Just found and pretty good USB audio card for those that are buying the BM-800 and doesn't plan to get an expensive Phantom Power.

Purchased several and only one had a nice voltage the rest were better than the MOBO connector but not amazing.

Somake 7.1 Audio

Note: Several other that looks identical are not the same internal device.

Be careful with chink lasers. They often use cheaper diodes with a filter over them to make them the right color. This has the added fun of spraying out bright light in other spectrums, which can harm your eyes. Be sure you have your laser goggles if you get them.

Notable example are Sharks with Monkeys in reviews.
I noticed it while looking at Ulefone Power listing with Ulefone Paris in reviews. It makes it pretty difficult to spot fakes on some offers.

I have 4k points on Gearbest, trying to figure out what to get. I use Apple shit because my work gave me the fucking hook up (watch, phone, desktop, laptop, tablet, whole nine yards), so getting a Note 3 would be fun but I don't really have a use for it. Other than using it to talk to my car's ODBII port I guess.

You have to be careful with what you buy from there anyway because some of the gearbest stuff is marked up so high that it still cost more after the 30% discount.

Is there a /csg/ version of this ridiculously expensive thing?

It's a USB / MIDI control surface, literally just knobs with feedback. Mostly used for making music. Note that the LED rings (or any form of visual feedback, really) are the killer feature here.

This thing is so overpriced it's ridiculous, but it doesn't have much competition AFAIK.

Which of the Xiaomi phones has some sort of community? I want to throw the latest Android on or at least Cyanogen. I don't trust the Mi OS shit.
>>
>>53655528
The Note 3 Pro is a good deal for $30-40 more but I only need the specs of the Redmi 3, and it has one more band I can use in North America. The price is right and I think the battery is better than most other 5" phones offered. Also when the Elephone P9000 Lite US version releases it'll cost me $160 since I got the group funded coupon and it's better than the Note 3 in specs.

>>53655537
Ohh that makes sense. First anniversary points expiring soon, now these are 2nd anniversary points in '16. I was about to panic and sell my $150 in points for the price of the Redmi.. which wouldn't be a bad deal if someone wanted to spend that much.
>>
>>53655542
You could just build one for like $30.
>>
>>53655634
Don't get a Xiaomi if you don't want MIUI, the whole point of fucking Xiaomi is their android personalization, hell they were a software company that decided to sell phones since they were already making MIUI for other brands, think of them as CyanogenMod, but they decided to makes phones for their OS.

You can get the latest Xiaomi updates even in 4 years old phones from them.
>>
>>53655672

Yeah, but aren't they based on 4.1.1 or something disgusting like that?
>>
>>53655672
That might have been true, but for the amount you pay on the earlier models, their specs rival current flagship phones for a fifth of a price in CAD, and the "Unicorn" versions get great coverage.
>>
>>53655672
Xiaomi have decent specs that make ot worthwhile if discounted, but MIUI is pretty problematic when they don't offer updates. They should at least unlock their bootloaders and make the capacitive buttons non-descript so people can actually take advantage of the re-mapping options for them.
>>
Fuck I left my computer on to mine cakebux. Should have turned it off this morning before leaving for work.i got about 7000 points so far so it's not so bad. But whether gb allows me to keep them is another matter.
>>

Nah, I've looked into it and I'm pretty /diy/. Rotary encoders and LED rings are either expensive or difficult to make.

From my research the cheapest way of making one would be to recycle a BCR2000 (a giant, barely-portable controller). Problem is, the encoder components in the BCR are too fat.

>>53655877
The idea is that
- you can move the controls
- the computer can "move" the controls
So you can't use pots, which have an angular limit, hence the infinite rotary encoders (preferably high res). And the LEDs for showing when the controls are "moving". Making the circuit and cramming 128+ LEDs in this small space is not easy. They're controlled independently so that's a lot of multiplexing. The circuit would end up looking like a bunch of these things:

Rooting is a much more common occurrence on Android, especially with ROMs pre-rooted. Google did it so that they could get approved by the banks to actually implement this. iOS is always supposed to be locked down so they didn't a plan against it

Muh nigga. I just ordered one. The v3, v5, and v7 seem to have very minor differences. The v7 has an unpowered roller brush at the intake port, which is the only difference between it and the v5. Idk about the difference between the v3 and v5, some people are saying its just the color of the body. Most of the reviews and youtube videos are in Russian, so its hard to say.

I got the v5 for 114 (before the discount) from Gearbest.

http://www.gearbest.com/smart-home/pp_217065.html

Theres a weird glitch where it won't let you check it with anything else in your cart if you have this in your cart as well. I had to buy it separately from the rest of my cakebux order.

The sharks are like 5 dollars for 32gb. They have Xiaomi hybrids for 17 dollars, and a M8S TV Box for 36. This is before the 30% discount.

The v7 has a roller brush that isn't powered. It just kind of glides along with the vacuum. The v5 doesn't have a roller brush at all. I don't think the brush really does anything, especially not for the extra 40 dollars they want.

Redmi note 3 pro is worth the extra. The 4000mah battery lasts for an amazing amount of hours, and it's almost twice the performance of the helis x10 (snapdragon 650 is very powerful, you may be confused because of the older 615 and 616 which were mediocre)

Battery on the redmi note 2 is disappointing despite my hat it's capacity might lead you to believe.

No difference in performance u think. While for the high end mi5, the 32gb low end model has a lower clocked snapdragon 820.

I can't check on my phone right now, try to see if the clock speed is different on the xiaomi site. The price you should aim for is around $180 for the 16gb and $215 for the 32gb. Any more and you're probably overpaying.
