I got into the hobby pretty recently though, started on an Athlon II X4 620. Still love that thing, managed to OC it from 2.6 to 3.5GHz using nothing but base clock.

Still blows my Sandy Bridge shitpads out of the water, so whatever. With a new GPU I would probably live with this thing until 2020 at least.

Phenom II x2 550 Black Edition Checking in.

Kept chilly with a brand new CM Hyper212x. Goddamn I love this chip, My only regret is not going all out an getting a II X 4 965BE or whatever it was at the time. Still, this is more than enough for me.
>>
i5-2520M, Sandy Vagina. No problems here.

Core i7 920 @ 3.8 GHz. Socket 1366. Still doesn't let me down. Hell, I could get a used 6 core Xeon for cheap too. Back when Intel made Enthusiast platforms right. Haswell E is the first decent upgrade since then.

i7-6700k
released last year

C2D E8335
2008

It performs perfectly fine, but after realizing the i series as been out for half a decade I decided it's time to move on.

Think my next one's going to be an Atom C2750

My main machine is an i7 930. Shittiest d0 stepping ever, won't do 4GHz. I run it at 3.6.

Home server is a C2Q 6700. I kinda wish it was faster and could take more than 8GB of RAM, but it werks.
>>
>>53652142
i7-2700k I bought in 2011, if I remember correctly.
It's a good one, never had any problem so far. Unfortunately, my motherboard died last week.
So, I decided to just upgrade my entire build, and get a i5-6600k.

i7 920 OC'd to 3.33GHz
X58 Chipset
12GB RAM

Upgraded the RAM from 6GB 2 years ago and my GPU a year ago but don't know why I would need to upgrade the CPU for a while still. Maybe to be able to use a new mobo now that I have a few spare M2 SSDs lying around.
>>

I turned one of these into a Xubuntu PC for my parents. Shit is actually pretty fast for browsing, movies etc.

I'm using a Core 2 Quad Q8200 on my main PC which is overclocked to 2.8. I got it in 2009. I simply can't be fucked upgrading to anything newer since it works fine and never skips a beat.
>>
Phenom II X4 955 BE

Got it back in early 2009, still works great.
>>
>>53652165
Same here - I can no longer over clock though as it crashes a lot when oc'd even when temps are OK.

No idea why I've replaced the PSU (that died) a year back so I assume its ram/cpu/mobo
>>

i5-750. Almost 7 years I think, works like a champ...

But I want it to die. I keep awaiting its demise so I can replace my mobo and really start upgrading, but the damn thing refuses to cooperate.
