I get the R9 390 and it is not working with my VGA 22 monitor, i tried a dvi-d to vga adaptor but it not work the card is works only with hdmi but i my monitor dont have hdmi only 2 VGA analog inputs, what do ? active dvi-d to vga converter??
>>53650445
What about a new monitor?
you need a converter. If the cable is just like VGA on one side HDMI on the other it's not going to work since one is an analog signal (VGA) the other is digital (HDMI) you need something to convert it. They sell them on amazon, or you can just get a new monitor.

>I get the R9 390 and it is not working
Oh an AMD card isn't working. Colour me surprised.
>>53650548
Nice meme
>>53650548
this
shouldn't have gone with housefire technology
welcome to the AMDPOORFAG life
>>53650548
it works fine, but not with VGA
>>53650445
>high-end gpu is a must
>vga signal degradation is acceptable
>>53650445
You bought that cpu cooler, and case, card..etc..but have an old as shit monitor with VGA input only? Really?
>>53650548
Hey,
I just wanted to kindly inform you that brand-wars are neither acceptable, nor cool anymore on /g/.
Go to >>>/v/ if you're looking for that kind of discussions.

>VGA
Do I even need to say it?
>I bought a Bentley but it runs on wooden cartwheels
Get a proper monitor man what the hell.
>>53650445
>vga
>>53650445
Only one of the DVI ports works with DVI to VGA adapter. You don't necessarily need an active adapter but I don't know if they still have legacy support in the newest cards. I think it's the lower port you need to use.
>>53650810
this card has only 1 dvi-d port
OP I did googling for you, and basically you need an active adapter because your DVI port is DVI-D, not DVI-I.
>AMD
no surprise here, throw that shit out and get a 970. you'll be glad you did.

3.5gb dont make me happy.
>>53650445
Op upgrade you monitor with a monitor that support something other then VGA. Also

>don't buy AMD
>reasons: video games are meant to be played on NVidia cards
OK, KID
That is the only reason to buy a nice GPU. For video games
>>53650445
yes OP its the only way
>>53650869
>throw that shit out
Like you threw out 0.5gb of vram?
>>53650900
At least it works to its full potential without needing an overclocked i7 to back it up.
>>53650682
Hey,
Every thread here that has someone posting with an actual AMD card they bought is only ever posting troubleshooting shit they have with it and theY come up 50 times more than Nvidia ones.
just Taying.
>>53650935
>>53650991
Oh nice, you made an AMDPOORFAG starter pack.
>>53650979
what if we have 50 times more amd owners on this board?
>>53650979
>Every thread here that has someone posting with an actual AMD card they bought is only ever posting troubleshooting shit they have with it
Except that's not what actually happens, you cunt. Look at the very many benchmark threads and speccy threads where people have AMD cards they are very happy with.
>>53652047
Until the problems start.
The black screens.
The driver crashes.
The random error popups.
You'll run into them eventually.
>>53652125
I've had a 290 for a year now and never had any of those problems.
>>53650445
VGA is deprecated since 2005
that shit is analog yo
>>53652125
I have a 7850 from 2012 and a 9200 from 2003
never had proglems
>>53652125
Here's how to use an Nvidia or AMD card
>insert into computer
>install driver
>update when you feel like it
If you fuck this up you're hopeless: a colossal complete retard
>>53650445
I have the same card, it has no analog outputs;
if you insist on using your VGA monitor get an active DP to VGA for $10-$15
>>53652125
here's your reply
Is dvi d the same as hdmi minus the audio?
>>53650570
Nvidia has the record though
I have the same card
the r9 290 and r9 390 do not gave analog output
I cant even use my crt now, shit sucks
your only option is a new monitor or actiVe converter which is shit and should never use one
or buy another card
>>53650445
>VGA
What's the point of buying a high end graphics card if you're going to just pair it with a shorty monitor?
>>53650979
Its almost like... The people without issues are content, playing video games and working with their software. Instead of waving their dick at traffic, screaming about how their $6000 green epeen is bigger than all of the other people who don't care...
No. Surely this couldn't be!? Why would sensible AMD owners play games? They should be screwing with their GameCapture settings, and running FireStrike like us Nvidia owners! Thats preposterous!
