Your list is only 3 decent reasons.
As for the rest, one's a botnet browser, three are anti-virus anti-malware bullshit you don't even need, the last two have better alternatives

Features promised but not delivered in Windows 10:
- package manager
- night mode/dark theme
- tons of features in Edge
- a store with real, high quality applications
- upgrade to W10 mobile for every windows 8 phone

"Features" they said would be disabled with the final release:
- letting users disable the "feedback" botnet
- letting users have control over windows update

Enterprise has all those things you listed, excluding the package manager.

Even Windows Phone 10 Enterprise is a downloadable update from MSDN that works on all Nokia/HTC/Lenovo phones.

From all that reasons only three are reasonable and even those has alternatives that works on linux:
>adobe
This may be the only good one that can't be replaced at the moment, but still, if you definitely need photoshop for your work it can be installed with wine.

The other ones i'm tempted to think it's weak bait but i don't discard that you genuinely don't know better alternatives. Not telling you to install linux but your reasons for running windows for those who already are comfy with other OS are rather weak.
>>
>>53653091

>>
>>53649753
does it solves dependencies? if not is more like a repository wich is not even promoted by default and that would help people to avoid getting tricked, don't get me wrong, i think it's a good step but microsoft should provide a way to get those apps in their store for the sake of the normal user.
>>
>>53651331
the problem with the wordpress page was discovered precisely because the checksums and the isos was spread along a lot of different mirrors. In the distro the packages are signed with gpg so is not so easy to tamper them. But nice try boy.

Sadly the auto windows updates keep bypassing the systems used to turn of telemetry, Spybot has been good at keeping themselves updated. Longest I have had telemetry on was for an hour.
>>
>>53649856
It does until the next win update which includes bypasses. Spybot has been good at keeping updated though but people need to stop thinking it's off for good because microsoft are getting around it every so often.
>>
>>53652950
There's professional cad tools available for linux:
https://www.bricsys.com/en_INTL/bricscad/editions/
http://cad.softwareinsider.com/compare/5-10/AutoCAD-vs-BricsCAD

You can install photoshop with wine
>>53653148

Maya is available on linux:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Operating-system-compatibility-for-Autodesk-Maya.html

I don't know about the other tools but for rendering there's plenty of options:
http://alternativeto.net/software/artlantis-studio/

Not telling you to invest into learning new tools or to use linux but there's good options for a lot of the tools you're presenting, so probably someone using linux could do most of your work without problems even if the workflow is not the same.
>>
>>53649566
I constantly see this. It's usually brought up in arguments over blender vs 3Ds max or gimp vs Photoshop. If you aren't a complete professional (and I mean years of experience, mastered the job your doing), open source alternatives will do the job. You don't need nor will you ever use or even know those complex features even exist in those proprietary software without such knowledge.
>>
>>53653389
I'll try to share that post with my company and see if they are up for switching operating system and tools
in all seriousness though, sure, if you are really resiliant and willing to put up with shit - there are alternatives to everything, you can achieve anything you'd do in photoshop with gimp or ms paint on that matter because after all it's all just pixels and you can draw each of them individually without using any tools at al
you probably could design complex buildings in autocad (or any other cad software) but truth is no company uses autocad or any autocad clone anymore, the only reasons I have it is because some installation companies didn't get to upgrading yet and still stick with it (and Revit/Archciad DWG support lacks at times if the file was made in different software)
All that aside, sure you could draw complex forms and shapes manually, but I'm 99% positive none of the complex tools Revit has ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emMksB6NqSw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAFWuvHsedc ) are available on linux and without BIM that produces proper documentations replacements are useless, on top of that, good luck on tring to convince whole industry that the OS they use should be replaced and they all should learn how to use new tools and adopt to new software
it's not even imaginable and it's not a line of work that really allows you to be a freelancer
I've been on debian for a while on my private computer and with everything requiring constant attention I wouldn't be able to focus on work at all, as many of my co-workers I would imagine, I wouldn't trust wine perfermence and it's not my choice that photoshop is an indutry standard
as for maya, it's just an exception that overall means nothing, when I'm expected to work in large group on big project I can't just replace company's renderer with something random (that even if would get the job done is not what others are used to and that would require a lot of implementation-related work)
>>
>>53653986
let me repeat again: i'm not telling you to change or learn anything, you raised good points in your original post but i wanted to highlight that there's alternative tools for a lot of the tools you showed.

If you need windows specific tools for work i'm not telling you to stop using them or to stop using windows or to convince any of your coworkers and i'm not saying that the tools you're showing are not the main ones the industry uses.

However the thing is that someone, as you say, that doesn't has specific needs like you has the option to use linux and do the same kind of work, maybe there's no tools for your field in particular and for people like you linux is not viable at all, but i showed some alternatives for those interested and each one will judge if they're useful for them.

>Using obscure Autohotkeys scripts to get basic desktop functionality like using a window on top.

meanwhile on linux, you have to use shady WMs made by single hobbyists and sketchy keybinding daemons to get full keybinding functionality. the most your DE will offer is limited key-.desktop file associations and a few built-in actions, like windows. same thing for OS X (karabiner, seil...)

>Using shady chromium based software to get tabs on the file explorer.
Okay, since everything not first party made by a fucking corporation shiny is "shady", all tabbed file explorers on linux are shady! EVERYTHING ON LINUX IS SHADY! And so is half the shit for OS X, because it's not even on the app store for violating apple's autistic rules.
>Constant pop-ups about software updates becasue there is no default package system.
A lot of good points have been made against the way linux systems do package management, most regarding the lack of separation between user software and the base system, so you can't issue an upgrade command for just one and risk pulling a bug or broken update in for the other - so you get systems that are either completely outdated, or completely new and maybe buggy. Those pop-ups are that separation between firefox and sudo that most serious OSes have (but not linux).
>Thinkering with Cleartype to get readable fonts.
On linux, you need to tinker with freetype for this. On OS X, you can't do shit except buy a high DPI monitor.
>Can't scroll taskbar icon to cycle through windows.
Alt+tab

>EVERYTHING ON LINUX IS SHADY
as shady or more than Windows "security" updates or telemetry?

>completely outdated, or completely new and maybe buggy
conviniently avoiding stable/LTS releases.
>separation between firefox and sudo
If UAC worked that would'n be the case and Windows is by far the most messy system when it comes to separation of software, appdata and registry are some examples.
>tinker with freetype
not the 90's anymore, at this point Windows can't even compete.
>Alt+tab
