> click enter
> grey screen from login in screen and cursor has frozen

I am running Windows 10 and I am happy. Thought I would start practicing with Linux and that happens. Ubuntu isn't any better : (

It might have to do with Wayland, since that's what the login screen uses. What's your GPU?
