I don't get the hate for X. Sure, it's old, but it's stable as fuck and "just werks".

Wayland doesn't have an equivelant to X forwarding, you have to use VNC or something similar.
Not like X forwarding was ever useful.
Having a network transparent graphics protocol just so you can forward is fucking stupid.
Wayland has much much lower overhead at the cost of not being network transparent, which is not a problem at all.
Wayland also solves a lot of other issues with X.
