Hey so I was reading thishttp://www.gamesradar.com/how-to-make-a-wii-arcade-stick/
And I was thinking about making one with an old third party GC controller. However would you be able to easily configure the arcade stick as the joy pad or would it just be better to buy a stand alone. Anyone else ever frankenstien old electronics to make a fight stick? Any hiccups you had?

Can't you just use the d-pad of the game cube? Also, I think you could ask that on /diy/, they might have more experience with that.

you are right on both cases
You can do it OP but it will require soldering and an old controller, also a non-shit case

You can get a madcatz fightstick in under $50. Save yourself the frustrations.

did you buy a pre-built PC to save yourself the frustration of building it yourself?

nvm just realised you want one for the wii
>>53634286
You are more or less the reason why I told OP ask that on /diy/
>>53634339
aye, /g/ is full of consumer whores.

What are you playing on Wii that you'd want a fight stick for? Pokken?
>>53634366
capcom vs tatsunoko probably
>>53634366
Maybe Tatsunoko vs Capcom?

OP you need to be able to switch the joystick between left analogue stick and dpad mode. Otherwise you might run into problems when sometimes menus don't react etc.
Also, some links for you.

Oh okay. I have one friend that made his own for PC / Xbox 360. He said the biggest issue was making sure he got the wood cut correctly for all the buttons and the stick.
Here's a pic of mine. It was $220 but was well worth it.

Yeah, hacking a 360 controller shouldn't be too hard and it's PC compatible.
Slagcoin's got you covered for layouts.
