>its sleek and low memory usage GUI, a far cry from later Windows releases
>powerful Resource Kit Tools for hands off maintenance and security
>USB and Plug And Play support

>working internet and windows office

2k was the best os they ever made
everything went to shit after 2k imo.
>fast
>stable
>usable
>customizable

I must admit though, even though I didn't find windows 2000 the greatest due to compatibility issues, I do still think Microsoft Office 2000 is the best office.

Why doesn't anybody talk about the almighty Windows ME?
Truly the best
Damn... This brings back memories. Used it until 2010 when I finally installed 7 due to new software not working without it. The interface is unobtrusive and clean, like it was designed by professional use without the gimmicky shit that plagues modern OSs.
Sadly Windows will never look or perform that we'll again.
>>53633249
>we'll
Fuck autocorrect
>>53632446
Dailyed it for a while in 2014-2015, only stopped because I put the system into storage, most of my current old Windows boxes are running NT4 instead.
It was really the last great NT operating system from a UI perspective, when it was designed for professionals and consumers weren't being conditioned to expect an ultra-gaudy UI overhaul every two years.
I got through college on this OS. Still have the laptop somewhere. Inspiron 3200 with a bay battery. Ran all fucking day and night on a charge. Used it a year ago to crack a Thinkpad BIOS. I'm a linuxfag now, but win2k is the best fucking OS Microsoft ever shit out - truly. I remember when XP came out and I laughed and laughed. What a fucking buggy toy OS. People now say it was great, but you guys weren't around when it came out. XP was fucking garbage compared to win2k.

How do i connect a windows 2000 thinkpad to an ethernet connection from the router to the laptop?
Ive been having issues configuring it and the internet isnt answering much,
>>53633948
There are no W2K drivers for the 970
Also
>32-Bit
>16 GB
>>53633911
You plug the ethernet cable in to the thinkpad and the ethernet cable in to the router then you have to restart the router and the laptop
>>53632446
>not secure to connect to the internet
hey that's great, maybe if you were running this in a VM to mess with Indian scammers it might make sense.
>>53633911
just assign it an IP address manually
>>53634013
never had a single 2K system fucked on the internet, just use common sense and don't put any critical information on a networked system in the first place
