Who makes the best network gear, and why is it MikroTik?
Literally who? You should buy Cisco gear, then do their networking course and study for your CCNA

is the best bang for the buck...IF YOU HAVE A SMALL NETWORK. I'm going to call 50 computers a small network. Also give your self some time to learn their interface. Their customer support is really good. I used their equipment at a previous job with no major problems. Also take a look at ubnt.com and the Edge router series, really east to use stuff from those guys.
