REEEEE Why do I even own a normie-book anymore?
>this technology is bad because I saw it on a movie once
>this man doesn't know what he is dealing with. I should know, I'm a longshoreman from New York.
This is an actual comment
Actual comment
>Instead of wasting millions or even billions on these ridiculous "smart" robots, how about you lower tuition or even make it free so actual humans can be educated? A lot of people don't further their education because of the cost of it and here we are wasting money on silly things as these. Whats the plan? Make these robots so smart that will eventually make actual people look stupid? Come on.

Why are people so easily triggered by technological advancements?

They already did. Based technological overlords
>>
call me when they make fuckbots

They're triggered because they will replace them (eventually us) in their jobs.
>>
>>53631218
There will always be a need for programmers and repair men.
>>
>media portrays AI as something bad
>Musk, Hawking, other fucking nerds comment about how it's bad
>shithead on 4chan asks "Hurrr why are people scared?!?!?"
maybe you should try being less stupid OP
>>

Think about it this way, you moron.

When literally the only jobs left for people are programmers and repair men, what happens?

All 8 billion motherfuckers become either programmers or repair men?

kek no

nice quads. they love it because it's a fantasy utopia/nightmare scenario that everyone else indulges in. smart people should be making software that forces dumb people to develop intellectual autonomy.

actually, at the point where there is what we see as conscience (which might well just be enough relational database computing power that the computer seems conscient, at which point there will be no more difference from our point of view), they will program and repair themselves. there will be no more need for human workforce whatsoever.

then again, i'm fairly positive that we are wrongly estimating future development. AI basic conscience may be around the corner, but AI conscience on a level where it can actually be ubiquitously applied in the world is still far enough away to lie beyond my lifetime (i'm 27). who knows what will happen in the meantime.

>this much closer to robo-waifus

Future's looking bright

How will the programmer ever be behind a a program? The programmer wrote the fucking things, he will always be one step ahead.

>Why are people so easily triggered by technological advancements?

Because technological discoveries are advancing at an alarming rate. Scientists should consider slowing down a little, to leave something for future generation scientists to discover!

>Why are people so easily triggered by technological advancements?
why are autists so easily triggered by a bunch of irrelevant blithering on the internet?

nobody's threatening your naively romanticized pop science technology, nor your inevitable VR-fueled escape from reality.
>>

>Why are people so easily triggered by technological advancements?
because they're dumb and our culture idolizes the realist/skeptic role. lacking any real insight, people just kind of snipe from the sidelines.
>>53631464
then luxury communism happens

also lol if you think there will only be 8bn people by the time that comes to pass

Jokes aside, there are genuinely some people that think that everything will be invented in the next decades, at which point you can tell them the story of Charles Holland Duell.
