Hey W7 users

Give me an actual reason to use this instead of 8.1, other than the start menu.
>>
stupidly redesigned and restricted "new ui" system "apps" like wifi settings, and not even consistent

just a pain in the ass to work with
>>
Literally no reason to use 8/8.1 with 10 out.
>>
I dont "Upgrade" (read: downgrade) just because of this startmenu- and botnetshit

What do you mean? The start screen is great.

Far better than the cluttered start menu where each application has 3 subfolders (Company Name > Product Name > Version > Shortcut to start the program).
>>
>>53631230
This desu. The start screen was a massive upgrade over the archaic and shitty start menu.

4 years of code. More stability, more speed.
Just install Classic Shell in it and you'll be fine.

my sides
>>
>>53631320
you know windows still has lots of unchanged code from windows 98, right?
>>
>>53630588
why would you use either as opposed to W10
>>
>>53631230
Right-click on desktop -> choose program from cascading menu is infinitely superior to start menu
start menu's only good for pinning folders
>>
>>53631230
Fucking this. Once you get rid of all the M$ shit and get your own stuff on there it's way better than anything previous.
>>
>>53633077
Uh, you realize Microsoft designed the start screen too?

I used to use 8.1, but I was having real issues with getting .NET Framework 3.5 to install, and other issues with getting Redistributable Packages to work correctly. So I just moved back to 7.

stability and compatibility
not a literal botnet (w7 had telemetry but this is a whole new level)
non-retarded ui
less bloat
interface doesn't try to look like an ipad
rearranged directories and renamed applications for no reason
Microshill wants everyone to upgrade. Always do the opposite of what M$ wants.

But I don't use Windows for privacy purposes so I'm fine. I'm using Windows 10 because it's the newest and has the best support as well as DirectX 12 among other things.

Except for the telemetry which can be mostly disabled all the things you just mentioned are all relevant to Windows 7 too.

So if you're not upgrading to 10 for privacy reasons you should already be using Linux or you're pretty hypocritical.

Everything is worse in Windows "we want the tablet market" 8. I've used both and see no benefits in 8 and its fucked up UI + program/app clusterfuck. Every menu got fucked up as well and I had to use the search to find anything. I've heard 10 is better in those regards if you dont care about your privacy for some reason.

You shouldn't be using windows in the first place if you're concerned about muh privacy, so I don't get that argument.
