Why is Gentoo a meme and Arch supreme?
It's even more "minimal" than Arch since you can enable only the USE flags you need and cut out the bloat.
Portage is practically Cortana compared to Pacman.
If you've got an i7 it compiles just as fast as Arch installs.
It's easier to compile than Arch because it does it automatically as you install.
It doesn't break unlike Arch.
It also has the most detailed Wiki in all of Linux.
you are bad at conveying intent in writing

Yes

>le Arch breaks all the time maymay
>>53628143
literally took more than 24 hours to compile on my old i7 950.

That's a meme. Gentoo is supreme, but uses a meme to protect itself from ricer and new fags. We say arch is great and retards flood to it instead, then we can say "I told you so" when they brick their computer

>he used genkernel

What does arch honestly have over Ubuntu minimal?
>>53628250
There has been only one instance of a bricked computer and it was a specific laptop model after running a specific command that no one should even be running in the first place.
>>53628243
Took me 2-3 hours on i7-620m thats even a mobile cpu
>>53628319
More on the AUR. Honestly that's the only thing that draws me to Arch more.
>>53628143
useflags are cool but aur exists
portage is python and pacman is c, pacman is better regardless of that because simplicity
it doesnt compile as fast as arch because arch literally doesnt compile packages
aur = simpler than portage
arch breakage isnt as common as you think but yes it does happen, although i sincerely doubt gen2 has less breakage
yeah gentoo wiki is good, but it can be used for arch and arch's wiki is good too.
>>53628143
>break like arch.
>like arch
When you lie like that, do you expect us to take anything else you say seriously?
You're asking 4chan for reasons. Almost every board on 4chan is an exercise in groupthink. Gentoo is a meme because the masses say it's a meme. No one here has any actual reasons.

They are pretty same when it comes to number of packages but arch has pacman, better documentation, aur easier than ppa, newer stuff
