What is the best business class laptop and how is it not the Thinkpad X1?

>lighter than MacBook Air
>more powerful than MacBook Air
>carbon fiber doesn't dent to shit if you drop it
>sexier than Air, has clitmouse

Cons
>no OSX for cross platform devving
>>
You can install OSX on it you dipshit.
Also, the x1 is shit.
>>
>>53624681
Shame about battery life
>>
Lenovo build quality isn't up there.
Go Dell, HP or Apple if you want the best of anything.
>>
>>53624681
>Can't be docked
>can't add slice battery
>Can't easily perform maintenance
>Needlessly expensive for buying in bulk
>Hot as balls, just like all "ultrabooks"

The X1 is many things.
An acceptable Business Class laptop, it is not.

>carbon fiber doesn't bend to shit if you drop it
Dude wtf... Laptops are not made to withstand huge drops. Also carbon is durable to bending, not to direct hits like dropping. Direct hits can delaminate layers on composite materials...

Sounds like all my PowerPC hardware's not backdoored and that you need to learn math
>>

I've never owned a ThinkPad or anything Lenovo, I'm just telling you that you're fucking stupid.
>>
>>53624998
>easily worked around
Just create a non administrator account for day to day usage. UNIX BASICS MY NIGGUH. Linux has the same vulnerabilities, and Windows? You don't even need administrator for privilege escalation.
>>
>>53625284
You really have no idea what you are talking about. Educate yourself a little more. It's not a "backdoor", it's the consequences of powerful administrator privileges. Of course, the average OSX user doesn't want the hassle of daily use in a normal user mode.

How is the trackpad?

Consumer and business lines are two entirely separate things

I have. Have you ever owned an Elitebook?
>>
Doesn't the Surface 3 pretty much hit every mark a businessman would need? I take my T420 on trips all the time, but I would look at the Surface if it broke.
>>
>>53624790
Thinkpad build quality follows military grade specifications.
>>
>>53625433
The particular business is app development.
>>
>>53625436
You can copy paste their marketing bullshit all day, compare a IBM Thinkpad, Lenovo Thinkpad, HP Elitebook, Dell Latitude and Macbook.
Lenovo is by far the worst of those.
Not bad, but not competetive compared to other high end models.
>>
>>53625397
Trackpad is flawless on my model. I might have been lucky, but i also got 3 year on site warranty, so if anything goes wrong it will be repaired asap.

Anyways brilliant device. It lacks few features i got used to on my x230t like rotating screen & finger print reader, but other than that no complains.

just stop. you've clearly just taken advantage of Obamas easements with Cuba, emigrated to the modern world, and bought your first computer
>>
>>53625607
Actually I work in a repair shop and we get mainly laptops.
Thinkpads have major quality issues, esp. since the Ivy bridge series. Wobbly trackpads, wrist rests are hit or miss, hinges are shit, [...]
I don't know how anyone can denie that, either you are still blinded by the reputation IBM built or you just have no fucking idea what you are talking about.

kek Do you actual write these on the invoice?

I don't write those, but if I would I'd write "Lenovo fucked up agian"

Just bought laptop. It says not to use it in battery mode. So aslong as keep the plug in and use it's fine, right? Can't make own thread for some reason so post here.

Probably one from the smaller, more expensive but also more local vendors you don't hear about in the news.

> and how is it not the Thinkpad X1?
Even not owning such a device I heard about flaws like BIOS backdoors introduced by Lenovo.
>>
>>53625436
Go try one out.

Thinkpads are objectively shit. I don't care how many military tests they can somehow make their laptops pass in a hermetically sealed laboratory environment.

I've dropped my macbook air on tile and hardwood from several feet and all it has is a small dent on the corner.

I've had to fix a broken hinge on my T420, glue back together the bezel, and replace a dead hard drive. And, a month into owning it, I dropped it from about a foot and its corner cracked, releasing a spring and making the latch lock nonfunctional.

DO NOT BY INTO THE HYPE. LENOVO THINKPADS ARE ASS.
>>
>>53625983
Which vendors would those be?
>>
>>53625964
Please answer my question. I'm sitting here like pic related.
>>
>Cons
>no amazingly good trackpad

I don't see how you couldn't put OSX on it

The issue is that if you're going to include a trackpad on a laptop and not make it as useful, you might as well take it away.

Hello Pajeet
>>
>>53625389
i feel bad for you if you've only dealt with hp consumer shit. their business lines are completely different beasts. when it comes to laptops, i don't even look at consumer grade. business laptops are where it's at.
