Depends more on resolution than screen, and 4" iPhone screen can display almost as much information as 4.6" (my current phone) because both are pretty much 720p. Now if you go with a bigger 5" - 1080p phone, you won't be able to display THAT much more due physical limitations/eye sight ... so it'd be whether slightly more information on a page is worth noticeable more weight in a noticeable less comfortable format to hold.
Also there is the whole "phone" thing. After you're done jerking off and reading, you might want to call somebody and using phablets as phone looks absolutely ridiculous.

According to geekbench the iPhone 6S is about 76% faster than an One M8 on multi-threaded applications (about 4400 vs. 2500 points). I don't know if the A9 on the SE has the same frequency as the 6S, but there's plenty of room to reduce the frequency and still be fastre than the One M8.
