Ey fa/g/s.
I think I'm finally getting tired of OS X and want to switch to a Linux distro.
However, I've heard that battery life on most distros is shit compared to OS X.
Is this true? While I'm getting tired of OS X, I'd hate to lose my awesome battery life.
Just for reference, it's a late 2013 Macbook Air.

for the most part no, macbooks mostly get their long battery life from the fact that they battery takes up a very large portion of the space inside
however, os x may be more optimised than gnu/linux but i doubt it would be noticeable
if you're using an IGP it isn't that much of an issue any longer
Not shit, but worse. Back in 2012 my MBA got maybe 6 hours instead of 9. Still worth

But you're already using one

what doncha like? cos you know osx is unix and linux is a unix clone right?
>>53617918
if you suddently have the freedom to do what you want with your OS, battery life may be affected.

Either retarded or troll

more like a faggot
I had an old ass macbook air running ubuntu, and battery sucked on default settings but it was actually faster than osx with some setting changes in powertop.
