To give it all sorts of functions that you never imagined possible, because most of it is of no use to 99% of the general populace, or falls into the category of "because I can, it's stupid, but I can."
But semi more seriously, can it be turned into an external display? I have a 4th gen with a very dead battery (it'll drain in a day just sitting idle) and the right-side page turn buttons are busted. So it's really worth replacing the battery or selling. Thought maybe it could be turned into a portable display to extend my laptop's desktop, to display notes or other relatively static items.
