who /rubberdome/ here?
mechanicals are too expensive, and low profle keyboards are the shit
pic related is my keyboard, snagged for 2 dollars at a thrift store
not my pic but its the same model, a gateway kb-0187
Dell SK 8115. Exactly zero dollars. I type 60-65 wpm corrected and you can't hear it in the next room.

>one of the two arguments he can come up with is "mechanical keyboards are too expensive"
Have you ever contemplated trying to be not poor?
>>53612803
i have a job but what the fuck is the point in buying a 70+ dollar keyboard when i can get a cheap, silent low profile one at the thrift store for 2 buckaronis? pic related is my build and no im not poor

Once you type on a mechanical keyboard you'll realize the stupidity of your ways
>>53612803
Here's another argument: Mechanical keyboards are nowhere near as good as they should be for the price they are.
Honestly your average mech is like 30-40% better feeling than your average rubber dome but it also costs 1000% as much.
KB series from 1996
luv it yo
Elegant, cost effective tech is beautiful.

I personally find it much worse, having to push the keys in far and listening to the constant clacking.

Old ibm stuff gives me a boner

i love the short travel of my keyboard and noiselessness

does the job
Got a Logitech K310 for a few years now. Every time I wash it it looks brand new, it's the best feature ever. Other than that it doesn't have anything special but I like it that way.

Hipster as it might sound, I've always wanted to try one of the old IBM keyboards as my day to day keyboard.
Shame they are so expensive in my country.
>mechanicals are expensive
you don't have grandparents with a Model M or anything? unless you were strictly trying to get a new board, I wouldn't call mechanicals expensive

Eh, I don't think being poor is every actually an issue with buying things, unless you get to the scale of things like car prices. I literally have no job or source of income and I own two mechanical keyboards. He literally just doesn't value his time spent typing enough to get a mechanical, or he's a stingy jew. Being poor doesn't actually mean you can't buy nice things occasionally.
Mechanical keyboards are for nerds who need something to make noise in their lonely basements.
I like my keyboards like I like my girls: silent, soft, and cheap.

I used one as a kid on the home computer, good memories.
