One more suggestion.
If you could make your music widget identical to your weather one it would look better.
So make a white square outline around the icon.
Maybe add different information in each of the squares also, so keep the song name in the top left, and the band in the top right.
Then in the lower left add in either a progress bar for the song or the song time.
Bottom right could be music controls or something.

Here are some tips I can give off the top of my head.
Hide the status bar
Find a different clock widget (preferably a completely symmetrical one)
Find a material themed wallpaper, or change the icon pack.
Look at some of the really nice ones in this thread like these

You see how all the colors are consistent throughout everything? The wallpaper, widgets, and icons all look like they match.
You need to experiment until you can find a theme that everything fits with.

If you're rooted you can probably find a rom or xposed module that enables pie controls.
I know that some roms also have some fade out thing where the navbar buttons fade out after a few seconds. I've only seen that on bliss roms though, so I'm not sure how common that is.
If you go with xposed then Gravity Box is what you're looking for.
