The Amazon Echo, and smart house devices in general.
I just don't have it in me at the moment to overthrow the 'dumb' devices that run my house right now, but the idea of a 'smart house' interests me a lot, and the Echo as a hub/controller/assistant for all this is super cool.

>>53607321
Absolutely worth it. It takes a bit longer than the memesters claim, but when you have it down, it's magical.
It's genuinely slower for me to reach for things like the arrow keys, numpad, or home/del/ins/end on a full-sized compared to the shortcuts on the 60% board.
After about ~1wk of use you'll know where everything is, but it takes about a month before you're more proficient at those shortcuts on the 60% than you are on the full-size.
I only bought it because I wanted something small to use in my rack, but I got an SSK and have been using the 60% ever since. Best purchase I've made in a while.
On top of that, my 60% is fully programmable, open-source firmware, infinite layers, and completely customizable. There aren't many full-sized boards that have the same features, less you're going with a custom.

I love the idea of sideways buttons on that so the type distance should be much shorter and more compact layout. 5 buttons for each finger, good. Not sure about putting delete key there.
Incorporate that with other ideas and we could have a really good keyboard. Because I think we all know keyboards are not as good as they could be with the new technology we have now. Just wish these things would stop costing so much, cause at theses prices I am starting to consider just building my own, custom fitted to my hands.
