regular brute forcing with opencl nvdia is about 25% faster. cuda accelerated you'll be looking about 200~300% improvement.

ive personally been a AMD fanboy and im using a 390 but Nvidia is good too, they are both good it just depends
Regarding my experience in the fast rings of Win 10 builds, and having a R9 290X in one rig, and GTX 670 SLI in another. So far all of my experiences with drivers shitting the bed have been nvidia SLI setup. AMD has been trouble free. Maybe a single card nvidia would be less buggy, so YMMV.

AMD hardware would be better for cracking anything like that. Nvidia may have CUDA, but AMD is all about the compute.
