The GPU was a Radeon HD 5850 OC'd to 1.0 ghz on the GPU and overvolted to 1.2 volts, it NEEDED watercooling. The APU was mainly just for shits and giggles.

Good question. The way the GPX blocks work is that the waterblock only really cools the core, the RAM/VRM are cooled by a passive aluminium sink (which is kinda-sorta-not-really thermally connected to the waterblock). The idea is that when you change cards, you only need to buy a different heatsink and you can keep the waterblock.

The extra fan isn't necessary, it just takes 10C or something off the VRM temps, which are already pretty good. It would probably need to be there if I was running a 290 or something.

That's idle for non-OC'd if it comes with AIO watercooling system (not custom water)(

I have an fx6100 OC'd to 4.4ghz an 1.40volts with hyper 212 plus (not evo) with 24c ambient temps and it ideals at 32c with stock CM fan. Just seems from what I read intel cpu should be a lot cooler than that with that kinda cooler depending on ambient temps.

I ordered a custom PC from a boutique builder and it will be here in ~2-3 weeks, would /guts/ laugh at my build if I posted it? Should I just kill myself?
>>
>>53620128
Yes because its pre built : ^ (
>>
>>53620152
I know, I just didn't want to spend an entire day building it, testing it, etc.

I had the money to blow and figured fuck it. Getting custom sleeved cables, clean routing, etc etc.

It will be nice and have a clean as fuck interior. But I didn't build it. Not that I couldn't have, I have done several of my own builds previously, but this time I wanted a professional to do it and I didn't want to spend the hours and hours laboring on it myself.

Ah well, I will use it in the battlestations thread if nothing else.

Okay anon.
>>

To do proper cable management with sleeved cables it will usually take at least a couple of hours. Depending on the case of course.

Well hot damn. Here's an updated picture of my laptop.
>>
>>53612503
yeah i know

i would if there were any decent led pwm 2400+rpm 120mm fans.

gotta say the cooler master 120mm silencio 2400rpm pwm fans are awesome. very quiet even at 2400rpm. the motor makes very little noise. all you hear is just the sound of air moving at 800 - 2400rpm.

that dual 90mm tower noctua heatsink is super nice.

every time i see it it makes me want to make a itx / matx build.

Whats the best case for $30-50?
got one of them there small motherboards and a 750ti, so i can fit in anything
>>
>>53620212
did you also pay people to put together your lego sets, you lazy nigger?
>>
>>53621326
Meh, they are also stress testing it for 48 hours, on a ~$2k build, it's peace of mind.

At least I went with AVAdirect instead of some bitch company.

Separate audio card brings clarity and "3D" to sound. I've actually no idea how they perform with DACs. You're best equipped with Creative card with CMSS-3D (considered by many to be the best 3D sound technology IF the game supports it not many do though) support. Sound Blaster Z is solid. There are gazillion reviews of audio cards. Better start with something.

Pretty proud of that one, it's my main workstation. Didn't really pay attention to cable management yet it was so easy getting a clean result with that damn Mastercase 5

There comb on the gpu cable already ? Have you noticed them ? Or you we're suggesting comb for the Mobo Cable ?
LedStrip is a brand new Bitfenix Alchemy!
How would you describe better ? Is this one too bright ??

Thanks for rating!

>390 crossfire
>amd 8350

why bother getting that gpu horse power to only bottleneck it with the 8350?
>>
>>53627070
If he had a larger resolution screen (beyond 1440p) that CPU bottleneck would be minimal for most games.
I've built a 390X Crossfire build on a 8370e and it performs just as well at 4K as a 4790k in 75% of AAA games I've tested on it.

>>53628313
It's true. For most AAA games at 4k, the work is shifted to the GPU so they're hovering between 80-90% GPU usage, while the 8370E is only at 40-60% depending on the game. The only exception I saw was Total War Attila and Civ 5, where the CPU load was hitting 90%+ every other second and the GPU load peaked at around 75%. Those games are CPU intensive, so it's a case in Intel's favor.

Frame rate wise, the 8370E (overclocked to 4.5GHz, I think) was about 10-25% below a stock i7-4790k at 4K. That's not that bad, considering I bought the 8370E for about $150 and $40 off a $130 motherboard. My 4790k cost me $300 alone.

Sorry, that was specifically meant for Total War Attila and Civ 5, the two games I mentioned prior.
Black Ops 3, AssCreed, and The Division averaged within a few frames of each other at 4K.

Yes, the LED is very bright and a bit garish imo
Get a cable comb between the two plugs on the GPU cable if possible, that's what threw me off. And yeah, a comb on the Mobo cable would be good
