Regular LEDs are definitely worth buying, but if you're using a base meant for incandescents, make sure you have something to diffuse the light properly. Shit gets real bright real quick
bee unsing one of those that come with a remote for the last 2 years and it still works great, i use it only at night tho, for when im on the computer late night or when im with friends playing vidya.

I have been using CREE LED bulbs in my bedroom for a few years now, they work just fine with no replacements needed and just as much light as the old ones they replaced. as for replacing high wattage incandescent bulbs, I kept running into issues with the LEDs burning out.

I bought one a week ago to put in my room.
First opinion: coloring is useless. It doesn't light even a quarter as well as white-ish light.
If I knew how it was, I definitely would have bought a white-ish only bulb.
Second opinion: it's actually quite good. The lighting quality is quite good, and in my case (Awox) the phone connectivity works rather well.
