new to vpns
just got mullvad because it seems pretty fucking private (don't keep records, don't comply with anyone), but can't post to various sites because it uses a shared ip :(
didn't realize there was a difference until i already paid for a couple months (derp, oh well $15)
NordVPN looks alright. will they sell me out the second a govt comes knocking?
suggestions on good/super-anonymous vpns with dedicated IPs?
bump

I use nordvpn, it's alright.
Why don't people just rent VPS instead and host their own VPN?

Can you explain more about this? I've got Webfaction (VPS I suppose?) and have heard of OpenVPN, but as I said, I'm a newb to this shit.

using your own vps is dumb because it's limited to only 1 ip.. also if you torrent on it there's a chance your provider will b& you, have bandwidth caps, or just b& you the first dmca they get

Yeah I was kinda wondering about that. Seems like NordVPN just gives you 1 IP if you specifically contact them for one.
Apparently IPVanish cycles you through thousands of IPs https://www.ipvanish.com/support.php
What is the deal with IPs anyway? How do places get them? Can anyone with an encrypted email and some bitcoin buy some??
