Those of you currently using the GTX 900 series cards, will you be upgrading to Pascal when it comes out?
>>
Probably not and the NVidia fairy can't change that

I've got two 970s and they're enough for a while until I see otherwise
>>
>>53590727
I'm running 3440x1440 love this screen I'll be using it for quite a while. My 970 plays most games maxed out 47 frames per second I think I'll just buy another 970 especially if the price drops a little more because of the new release.
>>
I will upgrade to a 1080Ti
>>
I have a 5820k/16gb/gtx 980 SC combo right now. Entering college soon. I'll probably be buying dual 1580 It's when they release.
>>
>>53590727
yes definitely because I'll switch to 1440p
>>
>>53590727
no, i tend to buy the lower end models (gtx 950) and skip a generation or two.
>>
As a 770 owner they already fucked me enough with their shitty nvidia framework that I might as well join team red.
just as fucked as old team green cards but with a better price/performance ratio.
>>
>>53590727
No, I've got a 980ti that I don't plan on replacing anytime soon.
>>
>>53590727

Depends on the benchmarks.

Even then probably not as I realize I don't really play games anymore. Sad tbqh.

Program UpgradeToPascal (output)

What else is there to do? I have no other hobbies and have lost a lot of interest in it and I just sit around depressed all the time.

>nvidia has said pascal on 16nm finfet will offer 2x the performance per watt compared to maxwell 2 gm200 chip
>that means a 125 watt full big pascal chip will offer the same performance as a 250 watt 980 ti
>that means its extremely reasonable that the 1080 which will be a cut down big pascal chip will offer the performance + 5-10% of a 980 ti since the 1080 is the 980 successor, not the 980 ti. that would net a 30 - 40% increase over the 980.
>i have dual 980's in sli which are 20% faster than a single 980 ti
>no reason to upgrade to pascal

i'll wait till the "1080 ti" comes out. if nvidia is true to the 2x per watt (which they should be since amd said polaris will offer 2.5x per watt compared to hawaii and amd is on a 14nm process instead of the larger 16nm like nvidia) then a 1080 ti pascal should offer the same performance and greater than two 980 ti's in sli.

I have 960. It plays WoW perfectly but not high end games like Witcher 3. That said im not a graphics whore, so I'll probably save money from now until XX80ti is out, and I can afford a good monitor at the same time.
>>
>>53591821
Do something that involves other people, find a job where you can apply yourself. Start working out and dedicated your energy to that.

In general, just try to find something you can dedicate your energy to.
>>
>>53591894
>find a job
if only it was that easy for a white cis male in a solid bluer than blue state
>>
>>53591716
Thats what people with a 780ti said as well. But the 970 ended up with similar performance as the 780ti with less power draw.
>>
>>53590727
I'll probably just buy another 980 ti
>>
>>53590727
i'll upgrade to w/e Ti

>GTX 780 Ti, GTX 780, and GTX 770 are all being discontinued; their replacements offer better performance at better prices for lower power consumption.

GP104 will outperform GM200, I expect Nvidia to quickly discontinue GM200 & GM204 and replace it with higher performance, lower power GP104 at cheaper price than the current $600+ GTX 980 Ti

I'll probably upgrade. Although I'll be waiting for both Pascal and Polaris cards to be released. Whilst I have favoured Nvidia cards in since the 600 series, I'll have to take a look how Polaris will compete against Pascal GPUs.

AMD > ALL
ALL HAIL RAJA,
MASTER OF GPU'S,
KING OF THE DESIGNATED SHITTING STREET
>>
>>53590727
Ill check the reviews and Ill consider it if it cucks my 980ti by a good margin.
>>
>>53592053
Was there any r34 of the fairy from that tech demo?
>>
I bet the new GPU's will cater only to people who want laptop gpu's or really small form factor PC's

I don't think it'll be the generational gap that everyone is hyping about.
>>
>>53592234
don't be lewd, anon. the nvidia fairy is a pure being.
>>
I will probably upgrade to Polaris since AMD seems more promising. Also I don't want them to bankrupt, I used Athlon XP many years.
>>
>>53590727
Not buying Nvidia again. Maxwell was a shit overall.
>>
>>53590727
Nope, I buy a card every 8 years or so... On the 980ti right now so...
>>
Have a 970 and it works perfect for every game I play. Won't be upgrading for at least a year.
>>
>>53590727
Who is this flamboyant fairy?
>>
>>53591838
No, instead of top end 250-275W TDP GPUs you'll get 200W TOPS, and that's being generous.
So now 2x 980Ti performance from the 1080Ti, you'll get 50% more performance at 200W
>>
>>53593519
Fuck everyone and that fucking power consumption fad, fuck them to Satan's ass.
Why must we nonpoorfags suffer? Why the fuck is there is the already low TDP limit going down even more? I don't care about a few $ of electricity every 2 months, I care about the most performance I can get out of a single chip.

Fucking hippies.
>>
>>53593590
Because console jews don't want AMD/Nvidia releasing hardware that's 10 or more times faster than their $300 deadweight.
Real answer: Because making small chips is less buggy, less validation, higher yields, lower power, easier to scale, and most of all, smaller chips come out in higher numbers per wafer, which means great cost saving, coupled with higher yields means significant cost savings.
tl:dr jews
>>
Is there an amd fairy or are they all of them gays?
>>
I won't upgrade until I know for sure that it will improve the VR experience
>>
>>53593892
Kill yourself
>>
I'll upgrade if there are significant improvements compared to my 780ti. Like if I can do 2560x1440 @ 120hz on intensive games? Fuck yeah I'll upgrade.
>>
>>53590727
My 970 should last me until I get an 1180 or 1280

Depends on whether the new cards have HBM2 or not. If they have HBM1 or GDDR5X I'm not interested and will just keep my 970 and desperately pray Nvidia won't gimp it too badly

If I do decide to upgrade, I'll probably get Polaris since I'm tired of Nvidia's shit
>>
>>53590727
No way. There are no games worth it and I don't see anything coming out either.
>>
Going to wait for the "980ti"/"fury x" renditions of the cards then decide which is worth it for me.
>>
No, I'll be keeping my 980 for a few more releases

probably not seeing as the 980ti is outstanding for 1440 and i have no of going beyond that resolution
