It's been well over 10 years since the issue was raised about GNOME not having a scroll speed setting.

Today, over 10 years later - it's still not fixed and is marked as 'not a gnome issue'

This is one of the many reasons why it will NEVER be 'year of the linux desktop'

If you care that much set the speed manually with xinput, faggot.

It's against their "design philosophy" to give the user that control

It's also against their "design philosophy" to give the user a file selector view mode windows, OS X, and KDE all have. Because a detailed list is just superior if you organize your files right like an autist and you don't need anything else. But, they swear, they'll finish a mobile-style file selector that has large thumbnails when selecting files from their photo app's database and nowhere else.

But that's not why it will never be the YOTLD

It will never be the YOTLD because every mainstream non-neckbeard distro sans suse is in the business of shoving GNOME and GNU crap down everyone's throats, because it's related to GNU, was never proprietary ever, and is therefore the best desktop environment for linux ever.

and then hipsters say "move to wayland for tearing-free desktop cubes" and your common IO layer is gone. now you either use a compositor that has it or you don't. fun fun fun.

the moment when retard distribution managers will move to KDE / Xfce as their principal desktop environments is the day lunix will start picking up adoption just like it did when gnome wasn't shit (Ubantoo 8.04 up to 10.10)

This is why linux causes suicides

anon the os has enough troubles without adding features for even more things to go wrong, come on give it a break

Implying KDE doesn't constantly take what works and turn it into buggy, unstable, unusable shit.
