My IPS x201 with a "new" 9cell lasts 8 hours, and has a beautiful screen.
Any chromebook that you can put Linux onto. I really dislike ChromeOS, outside of the BOTNET it's pretty shit

When it comes to storage, you can get an ACER chromebook with a HDD and upgrade it. I have a Toshiba chromebook 2 with arch linux installed. It only has 16GB flash storage, so I got a 128GB flash card and use it for storage.
Thats if you want a nice, light mobile laptop. If you want a tower disguised as a PC get a meme thinkpad.
