The only minus I can put against the MD101LL is the 1280x800 resolution, and I suppose the fact that it's not IPS. Basically, it lacks the awesome Retina screen. Other than that, it's fucking ace. I got mine in brand fucking new condition for $600 at Best Buy two months ago thanks to a general manager hook up. Slapped a 240GB SSD and 16GB RAM, and it fucking flies. Yes, the Retina screen and lighter weight and profile from the newer rMBPs would have been nice, but not worth paying over twice the price I paid for mine plus the upgrades. Plus, I always have the option to actually upgrade its storage further, which you feasibly do not on the Retinas.

Also, despite not being IPS, the screen is still quite nice. Certainly beats the absolute shit out of the 2009 Core 2 Duo Macbook I was using before it, which had terrible ghosting and absolutely dogshit viewing angles. For a TN panel, it's very nice.
