This is my laptop,

Ive had it for several years now and things are starting to "not respond" like my internet browser and skype and such. I am looking into buying a new laptop that isnt amazing but not bad. I want to be able to play something simple like guild wars on it without my computer overheating and dying. I'd prefer something with a decent battery too. What do you /g/uys think?

Reinstall windows
Downgrade some of the software such as Skype and a few others which now require stronger computers to run then when you installed them. Newer software tends to be built for stronger computers then what you have

You should also include what you're going to be using the laptop for.
I'd suggest asking this question in the sqt rather than just on /g/ because It's hard to tell whether you're just shitposting.

I just did about 8 months ago, I dont even install much on it, i dont understand why it is slow

How is it you can downgrade something? Is it just uninstall and find an older version to install?
>>53582778
Okay thanks for the advice. And i'd be using it for copying movies, so a blue ray would be nice, low to moderate gaming, porn watching and video streaming

You can keep this laptop.
Just upgrade some parts like swapping the HDD for a SSD, and maybe a RAM upgrade.
Also do a fresh install of Windows, and that should do the trick.
If you don't wanna keep this laptop and really do want a new one, I recommend a Dell XPS if you have the cash.
