lately i've been forcing myself to use LaTeX for more stuff so I'm more comfortable writing papers in LaTeX (CS grad student, conferences, etc...), so when I hit a "post too long" error or something I just copy everything into my editor and turn it into LaTeX to work with it.
Maybe I'll start including figures and shit soon since that's still a little foreign for me (having to look up the syntax is annoying).

Tex Gyre Termes. Computer Modern is nice for signaling that you used LaTeX, but for proposals that have length limits and guidelines about the font sizes you use, Computer Modern actually takes up a little more space than Times or something similar would look.
