i find it funny that i've been able to prosper on several trackers that are told to be incredibly hard to survive on. i don't know if any of you are going to agree with me; i'm just following along with what i've heard. for example, someone told me bitspyder was impossibly hard to seed on, and i'd need to depend on uploads to get my ratio up. that wasn't a problem at all, considering i kept using my freeleech wedges on MAM to get large torrents to upload (now that bitspyder is having global freeleech i have over 70 gigs uploaded). someone also told me that sciencehd was hard; i didn't really believe that person, considering all the freeleech torrents available and the fact that you are given 10 gigs of upload credit when you join, but i don't really download from there much anyways. is any of that good? i mean, i'm not trying to boast or any shit like that, i just want to know if that's decent for someone that's been on private trackers only since november (i'm on 6 or 7 as of current).

Hopefully I explain this correctly. I've had a BluRay burner for a while & just never used it. I recently bought some 25GB BR discs.
I always see movies at PTP, HDB, AHD, etc. that'll fit 50GB BR discs, their labeled "BD50 / ISO" or "BD50 / m2ts", etc. They are usually like 30GB or more though, can't fit them on the blanks I have. I'm trying to burn full 1920x1080.
I've never seen anything for 25GB on any trackers. What would be the best way to utilize these blank 25GB BR discs? I'm was hoping I didn't have to return them to Amazon to grab the 50GB ones.

What is going on with the all of the spam torrents on the The Pirate Bay? There are tons of files that have all been uploaded today with tons of "seeders" but they are all either 304mb (shows) and 707 mb (movies) but they are obviously bogus files. Whats up with this? I have never seen anything like this before...

We had been ratioless since our inception but now we're using Gazelle we're ratio based to make full use of the extra features that are a part of Emp's branch of Gazelle. However, it's uber easy to maintain ratio and used correctly ratio is moot. All full seasons are freeleech regardless of the size as are all S01E01 episodes.

So here goes.. I'm a former UG and BG member who got married, had a kid, blah blah blah. It's been a long, long time since I've been active in the community and, as expected, the landscape has changed. I'm looking for guidance on where I can start over, as I don't have any of my rom sets. All my research points to BCG and GGn being the last 2 standing, but they are pretty locked down without knowing someone or having a good ratio on some other tracker to post on their forums.
Considering my fresh start, are there any other gaming related trackers to look into? Or, am I forced to get on a shit tracker and establish a ratio to work my way up? Ugh..
As a side note, I was registered on BCG back in the day but didn't use it much as UG and BG were so much better, but they seem to have gone through some turmoil and my credentials don't work there anymore.
I've been stuck at 98% for weeks on a music torrent that I really want to listen to. I downloaded this torrent from what.cd and from what I can tell, it looks like there's only one seeder.
I wish I had the logs to look back, but I'm pretty sure the reason why my torrent won't finish despite the fact that there is a seeder is that he/she is sending me bad chunks that don't check-out against the torrent hash. I've tried direct-messaging the original uploader of this torrent to see if they could help seed, but they having logged into the site for over 5 years.
What I need this bad seeder to do is 'verify' their torrent to confirm that it has bad chunks to see if I'm right.
Any ideas on how to contact them or how to proceed?

Update: I was actually just able to send a re-seed request because they stopped seeding long enough for that option to appear. Follow-up question - would there have been a better/faster way for me to fix this issue?
I currently was able to join BitGamer and UltimateGamer as a private tracker. I am looking for a great movie site. I have no problem uploading when I download. I got a notice from comcast saying they knew (?) I downloaded a show called Pretty Little Liars, and I want to avoid any negative response from them. Will private trackers help this? If so, why would it be able to help? I mean, I am still downloading won't their program pick it up.

You shouldn't forget that it's very kind of WCD to allow people without any previous private tracker experience or connections to join their site. Of course for some people it's harder than for others (I knew most stuff already so I basically only had to remember V0/V2 target bitrates). But don't forget, next to the interviewing process they also have recruitment on all major trackers and shower the members with invites. It's just one way people are able to join the tracker, if you don't like it, choose another.

There hit and run system is horrible to say it nicely. I understand the point of it since there are many people who leech and don't seed some torrents, but their implementation of it is disgraceful.
For example, if I get a freeleech torrent that is say 60GB, I have to seed that ENTIRE 60GB. No, "Hey, you seeded it for 2 weeks, 50 years and there is still no one to leech it from you" thing, nothing. Regardless of how long you seed it, if no one wants it, you are indeed fucked on that torrent.
You can either spend 50 bonus points to make the Hit and Run go away which if you do the math is ridiculous, not to mention your mixing bonus points and hit and run points into one unit so it's really confusing or you can use 60GB upload credit..yea like I'm going to waste 60GB of upload to make this damn hit and run notice to go away.
Come on, I'm not a part of many private trackers, but I'm sure there are many that probably implement this hit and run system much better than this. At least say "if you seed a torrent for X hours then it is no longer a hit a run" and then tell us how long we have been seeding it in our control panel.
Another problem I am facing is that I am using all of my seedbox space for these damn hit and runs. Since I pretty much have to seed them forever since no one is leeching them from me I have to keep them in my seedbox and then I don't have enough space to download other shit.
What's the point of a freeleech if I know I'm not going to be able to seed that much data back regardless of how long the torrent is in my seedbox? There's none, I'm just shooting myself in the foot.
If any of you have any idea how to make this better or have any other comments please chime in.

Hey guys, I'm a fan of high bitrate content and currently I use Rarbg for films and TV shows, films are great since they upload the BD remuxes but when it comes to TV shows they aren't so great.
Better Call Saul for example has a 8Mbps bitrate. I'm wondering if there's a better option for high bitrate TV shows.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've mostly used public trackers. I have membership in a few private or semi-private trackers, and I like them well enough, but when I can find something I want, I often fall back to the public trackers like TPB and KAT.
Now that my seedbox provider is blocking public trackers, I have to question -- if I had membership in the right private trackers would I never need the public ones? Do I need to fall back to the public ones because I don't have the best private ones?
Those of you with more private tracker experience than me -- do you find the selection is deeper in your private trackers or on the public ones?
I don't want to lose my selection options, so I may need to switch seed boxes. DESU, even if private trackers are better, the process of getting "in" might make switching seed boxes simpler. ;)

To put it bluntly, I remember reading a couple months ago that Demonii was taken down and that the Demonii.com domain was taken over by the MPAA. Now, in a certain torrent I started I noticed demonii.com as a tracker, so I immediately dropped it.
Was Demonii simply restored? 'cause all the other trackers are legit/safe ones, just been a long time since I've seen Demonii and I am not sure if I should trust the source of that torrent.

I connected in through Teamviewer, and he's running PIA through OpenVPN on an ubuntu server. His iptables are setup to only allow traffic over the vpn tunnel, loopback, and local 192.168.1.0/24. So all should be good, but anyways. The resolve.conf was set correctly to PIA's DNS servers as well. Kinda scary...
For all the things he could have gotten dinged for, it was for d/l'ing a cartoon from KAT for his kid. He forgot he checked it as a tracker when initially setting up sonarr over a year ago, but luck finally caught up to him.

I noticed recently that the URL extension on Demonoid went from .me (Montenegro) to .ph (the Philippines). I'm a fairly new member on Demonoid and wonder if any one has an answer as to why they do this? Is it just to give them a safe haven on a different country's domain?

I signed up to AB and WCD several months ago under different aliases. This is merely one facet of my attempt to keep a low profile. I'm now in a position to make applications on the official recruitment threads for other trackers and I am happy to reference the fact that I have accounts at other places but I don't want it to look bad that I've not used the same alias. Additionally, if I were to be offered an invite to another tracker I may also adopt another new alias once I sign up.
Is this seen as problematic in any way? I've not broken any rules but I'd rather not be subject to suspicion if at all possible.
I'm on IPT, speed.cd, Jpopsuki and MyAnonamouse. Every single site, except for IPT, I've had no problem keeping ratio and I've built to be above 2.00. I take my accounts very seriously; I learned that the hard way with waffles.fm, and I'm just wondering what I should do now. I have a very cheap seedbox, I pay $15 a year for it; 10 gigs of hard drive space, 128 mb ram and 500 GBs bandwidth, it almost suits my needs. The thing is, my budget for anything is extremely low, and, believe me, usually I'd be fine with the bare minimum, but for private trackers I know I need more than that.
So, my question to all of you, where should I go now?
I'm looking to choose which tracker I'm going to attempt to join next, since I just reached 200GB on TorrentLeech, 40GB on SuperTorrents, 1TB on HD-Torrents, 7TB on BakaBT (I think the tracker got wrong data, last time I checked, I only uploaded 2TB) and 2TB on BitGamer.su and underground gamer.

have been on IPT for 5 years. Have never donated one cent and have never been hassled to donate or threatened with having my account deleted. I literally wouldn't even know that IPT was so controversial if it wasn't for this subreddit, literally would not have a single clue. I also belong to BTN.
I use torrents to get stuff for free. I don't act elitist about where you download your The Walking Dead S05E03 720p HDTV x264-KILLERS release from, whether it's IPT, BTN, TPB, EZTV, wherever. I look for a Bluray movie to download, and it's available on IPT freeleech, literally the exact same release as on another site, I'll fucking download it. I don't give a fuck what the policies behind a torrent site are as long as I can access the files I want easily.
Yet for some reason, every time the word "IPtorrents" or "IPT" is uttered on this sub, a mass of IPT SUCKS IPT ARE LITERALLY HITLER comments bombard the user.

A non-HD movie need only be around 750M. Even an HD movie only need be 2G or so. Why are the files at IPTorrents so huge? What else is in those files?

I'm interested in starting to torrent and get good ratios in hopes of getting an invite to IPTorrents or a similar website. Any advice on what websites, maybe outside of the obvious TPB to start torrenting? And how can I start keeping track of my seeds so I can provide proof of my good ratios? Thanks for the help.
I realize that this would be best sutied to be posted in the Demonoid forums, but for hte past 24 hours, their site (at least the forums section) is down.
So I just got a Demonoid account and proceeded to download something. Now, I had heard through the grapevine, that one of the "rules" is that you need to maintain a seed/leech ratio of at least 3:1. However, what I downloaded (at the time of this writing) had about 1200 seeders yet only 75 or so leechers. I left my computer on all night (something the environmentalist in me abhors) and after 40 hours, I had only managed to obtain a s:l of 0.019. Apparently at this rate, it is going to take me weeks to obtain a ratio of 3:1.
So, is it absolutley necessary that I have the aforementioned ratio, or becuase this si a popular torrent, I can forget about it?
2.) On my demonoid homepage, it still shows that I have downloaded 0 KB and uploaded 0KB; why is taht? (yes yes, they update only once a day, but about 40 hours have elapsed and still no update).
3.) Anything else I should know as a new user to demonoid?

Get the 50gb DL discs if you want uncompressed films. Otherwise have a look at the Remux's, they can be under 25gb. Or look at something like an AVCHD compiler which you can put multiple x264 rips on a single disc. If you get a few GP encodes you won't know the difference.
With my previous ratio-free trackers TSH closing and FTN stuck in limbo, I was wondering if FSC actively recruited anywhere in particular. I can't see invite threads on any of the trackers I am with, and I don't know anyone on the site unfortunately.
I believe they maintain a pretty low profile (no thanks to this post, I understand) but I was thinking about the site as it could be a more reliable general tracker, due to this low profile. I've also read they have a good community and torrent packs.
