Hey /g/, any of you guys heard of the Maktub ransomware? Just got infected by the bastard and all my files have been encrypted into some shitty .NORV format, got rid of the source of the trouble because there's no way I can afford paying 1.4 bitcoins for recovery. I guess I'm going to have to deal with losing everything. Any of you guys had a similar ordeal?

Got an email that said 'my request had been satisfied', with my mothers home address and phone number. Linked me to some wordpad file that I stupidly unzipped saying that there 'was a change in policy and I should be informed'. Thought nothing of it until I went for a shit and returned to find my PC in meltdown. Terrifying stuff man. Annoying thing is that the url appeared to be a part of a legitimate skydiving website, so I had my hopes up that it was a birthday present
