I'm using Windows 7 and haven't done any updates since windows 10 was sorta new and I heard how future updates for 7 & 8 were gonna add spyware to your PC. Is this still a thing or is it safe to update my windows 7? There's a program I need to download for a game but it won't let me download unless I update.
Can someone please respond?
Just take off the tin foil hat and update

nice digits bro

So nothing bad will happen or have I already been spyed on way before this?

Both. Your OS can't protect you from your isp.
You get a nice performance boost and dx12 support. Might as well have the performance since you're being spied on anyway.

If I update will it try to force my computer to use windows 10? I want to just do the update I need and keep the auto update shit off.

You should be able to turn off automatic download and install in the settings. You can set it to where you have to tick each update you want and only those will be downloaded and installed. Why do you not want 10 out of curiosity?

Windows 7 is as much spyware as 10 is. Either be consequent and use open source stuff or just update to a better and more secure version of Winshit.

It isn't necessarily spyware, but it is a forced update to windows 10. If you get these updates, it will start pestering you daily, interrupting your games, to install windows 10. Sometimes it will even install it without your permission.

Pretty much this. Unless your employer is keeping you from updating, there is no reason to still be on Windows 7. 7 was great, and now there's something better.

>be op
>never update
>never use an antivirus cuz they are 'the botnet'

tl;dr, op is a raging homo who loves dicks in his mouth.

Microsoft have always been using telemetry. Windows 10 only makes it more obvious by not letting you disable any of it.

Update but AVOID THESE ONES.
