If it is from AT&T or Verizon, then it has a locked bootloader. I am not sure about spring, but T-mobile for sure has no locked bootloader. If it is an international version, it also has no locked bootloader.

Usually here, the most they do is just make it so the phone is carrier locked, but even then you can just ask them to unlock it for like 25€ (or 10€ if you take it to the indians hehehe). But rooting doesnt really give that much.. maybe titanium backup for some and adway but other than that not much at all

I don't doubt it is good and all, but that whole system is so sketchy. I just can't put my finger on what's wrong with Android, but it always felt like 80% things on it are obsolete and the ones that are on it need to be replaced because they are literally barely useful. And all that lack of power of the system itself makes me want to avoid it.
Which is bad because Notes are by all standards great phones. I can just imagine the pen thing fucking up on Android. Android by design has issue with great ideas not getting realized because its one OS for every phone, while iOS realizes every idea to perfection and its way more convienient. I literally feel the instability of Android even when Im opening Mail app, sliding through it or changing some settings.

I use Safari on iPhone and its Contacts are simpler yet miles ahead of Android's. It messages also don't lag and I can send them over the internet to iPhone users. Never even thought about using another app.

Look. I also liked Android before and argued in its favor, then I decided to get out of my comfort zone and actually try iOS and use it as my only phone. It simply serves me better for everyday use. I don't want to tell somebody it is superior, it just serves me better for my everyday use and its better involved in the environment which would benefit productive work. I have the C (Exynos). It is faster, battery wise lasts longer, but then there are no roms.
And Samsung sucks big time when it comes to updates.
(There are a few roms on XDA for this variant, but they are 99% of the time just modded original firmwares.)
