Why does /g/ not like Cinnamon? It seems to be the best DE right now. Runs perfect on my meme T420
Arch, Install It .

Cinnamon is ok i just dont use it because it does not fit my personal taste
>>53542176
Yeah I probably will tonight. Ran it on arch before it is was nice as well. just dual booting right now so in cautious mode. haven't been on it in probably year and a half

I just dig how it works out of box well. easy for keybinds. I remember it being much mor ebuggy back in the day. Now the themes dont even take long to load the first time lol
I tried to use Cinnamon but for some reason it was all laggy for me, like not much, but noticable enough to make me not wanna use it. Also partially because I was too lazy to port all of my keybindings from OpenBox to Cinnamon.

> bastardization of windows 7 design
> me hating windows 7 design
> me hating cinnamon
thats why
For some reasons, my fans started to go nuclear when using cinnamon.
Pretty happy with my xfce desktop. Lightweight and good customization.
>>53542135
it looks like a mobile DE
>>53542278
What the hell is wrong with windows 7 design?you can change it anyway
>>53542300
It doesn't though. Not even remotely.
We don't hate it, I run it on my Arch install. The only reason why it might be looked down on is that it tries to be GNOME before GNOME became "bloated," but it's not as lightweight as MATE, nor XFCE, and it provides the same functionality as MATE and XFCE, just with some extra eye-candy ootb; just comes down to personal preference, as always, there's nothing inherently bad about it.

could you post that wallpaper
i because cinnamon because it's got decent hidpi support and isn't gnome
Not enough customization options. Panel widgets are way too limited. I like Mate much more.

what icon theme is that?
i3
>>53542135
I hope that's not the default icon set.
