I normally don't like luxury quartz, but Grand Seiko is an exception, that watch is amazing. The only flaw is that the display caseback is absolutely pointless when everything is covered up by one huge plate.

3 Time Zone Guy here, after a bit more searching it looks like the G-Shock 7700 or 7710 series can do 3 time zones, but it would still be nice to know if the Waveceptor can do it as well.

Also would be nice to know if there's a Rolex GMT knockoff with a field watch-style face since analog's more elegant.

It's more then likely a chink ETA clone, and i still do think the odd caseback is a disadvantage. Lack of WR is a shame, but for the price of a 100$ the alpha definitely ain't bad.

Though that's advantages the 150SE has, 200m WR, (somewhat) regular screwdown caseback, and a the movement is almost exactly the same as the 2416/2415.

Shame that it's ugly as shit, i'd rather have the K-34 GMT.

Frequent traveler here, an AE1200 is the absolute best you can get today.

It has four timezones set in quick access, with the main one always displayed in the top right clock as a reference. You can easily switch the displayed timezone from the four memorized at the press of a button, aswell as change the main timezone in the top right. You can activate a handy mode that scrolls through timezones every two seconds too.

And then there's also a mode where you can scroll through all 40 or so cities freely. Quite slow, but does the job.

Well you have to keep in mind that simply dropping the watch onto a hard surface can subject it to literally thousands of gs acceleration, but I don't know the difference sustained smaller forces make. The rotor is definitely the part of the watch that is subject to the most strain however so it might be good not to chance it.

I googled the question and didn't really find anything definitive, but from my understanding, there really shouldn't be any issue for any well designed three handed mechanical watch.

At worst, the accuracy might be affected while subject to the G forces, but nothing nefarious should occur. With mechanical movements it is high G shocks that are risky, rather than sustained G forces.

My answer would be different if you were looking for a chronograph, however, as there was only one mass produced chronograph movement where the chronograph functions were designed from the ground up to resist G forces: The Lemania 5100.

More than you can actually afford.
Anything you need to buy in installments.

If you can only afford a SARB but buy a vintage Patek, it's too much. If you can afford a used ferrari but buy a Richard Mille split second tourbillon, it's too much.
>>
>>53544888
I would say that you could put a watch on a credit card if you could pay off the balance at any given time, but it's still better to pay cash at that point
>>
>>53545040
sure, there are situations in which it may make sense to pay in installments/on credit

but, in such a situation, it is never a "need" to pay in installments. it must be something you could pay off right away but for whatever reason, it still may make sense to use credit

I'm thinking about getting this watch: http://www.augustbachmann.de/watch/10201-62-mb/

It's currently €99,- instead of €195,- and I kind of like its simple design. I'll probably miss the date indicator a bit but that'll be ok, I guess.

Can I do anything wrong with that watch?

its a lot easier and more dependable to time things with a chrono

I mean yes I could just look at the time but that just doesn't quite cut it for chemistries or always even for cooking and when doing sports, it'd be annoying to try and remember the times in your head

How did I contradict myself? The bezels seem disproportionately thick compared to something like this. Is it some intentional trend or is it just part of how all the proportions on a watch look fucked up when you scale it up to larger sizes which is what has happened with all of these watches which are all like 42mm+ except for the 39mm Explorer.
>>
>>53557779
well you said they're all oversized, but the BB without diving bezel is 36mm

the other part i misunderstood, but you explained in this post.

i'm not sure if this is what they intended, but a larger bezel allows for a larger overall size without making it seem as big on the wrist since the dial isnt so much larger
