Avoid booting to windows for that period of time, or you are likely to start retreating back to it instead of getting used to linux as your new home and working on making it feel comfortable

What do you mean? I dislike much of the software displayed on the list but with no other infographic around the only viable alternative is the best alternative. Is not like I fully approve the use of proprietary software neither.

Some people find an infograph a great first start. Moreover all those newbies jumping out windows. Of course not even OP's image fits this schema, but I was hoping we eventually had on infograph for beginners.
