Also, I don't use a Pentium 4 HT in my main rig - I use one in a little spare system I keep around for toying with, and it's really pretty solid. 8 GB ECC RAM and a P4 HT makes for a solid Win 7 machine without Aero. Quit being a turd.

This is my main machine and it fucking sucks, I can't browse the Internet without using noscript or everything will be slow as fuck.
I can't play any video games because in built GPU doesn't support OpenGL >2.1 or hardware T&L.
I can't put in any external GPU either because no PCIe slot. I can't replace CPU with C2Q or something because motherboard doesn't support anything after Pentium D. I can barely find DDR (aka PC-2000) RAM in the market anymore if current RAM shits out.
To make matters worse, I live in a country where everything tech related costs 150% more than murrika
Because i run on solar panels and I don't want a housfire.

I upgraded my pentium 4 to a pentium D. I have this machine for 10 years now and it still is my main machine. Feels good.

Might install Loonix on my dumpster found P4 to give it a try but it's pretty shit and can barely decode a YT video without running at 100% utilization. Also has a mix up of various DDR RAM (1792MB) I have lying around forcing it to run in single channel and at 333MHz. It's only saving grace is the PCI-E 16x slot to put in a GPU that might help with video decoding.

It was better price-performance wise, but the Pentium 4 C kicked its ass and the ones with HT were even better than any AXP, but too expensive and not worth it.
The real superior CPU was the A64, the P4 and Pentium D are a fucking joke compared to the Athlon 64.
