Sup /g/

Where can I buy a SIM card for a data only plan?

I want to pay up-front and pay as I go. For example $20 for 2GB, and have the device quit transferring data when I get to 2GB.

Don't want to be billed per month for a fixed amount of data whether I use it or not.

I cannot for the life of me find a company that supplies a service like this.

Ideally I'd spend a few hundred bucks to buy 100 GB worth of data, stick the SIM card in my device and forget about it until I finally burn through 100GB.

Don't need/want a phone number.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but you're all faggots anyway so this can't hurt.
>>
Wow I do not find her attractive at all
>>
Oh also sounds like you want Google fi or whatever it's called
>>

For having some decent milkbags this bitch sure made them look unflattering
>>
>>53531429
Every SIM will have a phone number attached to it.

You're SOL in that department.

Here's your reply.
>>

doesn't matter really, i just don't need to make calls with it

>>53531575
>Google fi
no, that's not what I'm looking for
>>
>>53531745
Ty

>>53531797
Okay well why not
>>
Closest option you have is boost mobile. Their $30/month plan includes 2gb of high speed data (which will grow to 5gb). Additional high speed data is just $10/2GB. You can also get their $55/month unlimited lte plan and use as much high speed data as you want.
>>
>>53531831
not OP but google fi is a huge ripoff. prepaid carries always offer better value.
>>
>>53531831
As far as I can tell, Fi requires me to pay a $20 tribute to Google every month.

I just want to pay for the data. If Fi was JUST $10/gigabyte, no monthly recurring fee for service(s) I don't want, then I'd be all over it.

>>53531892
Yeah

>>53531874
I don't want to pay monthly though. Let's say I want to spend $500 to buy 50 gigabytes worth of usage on some cell network. I use the 50 gigs over a year or whatever, and then get cut off until I pay more money.

That's all I want.
>>
>>53531925
I can feel that
>>
>>53531942
Just work for a wireless provider and get a free monthly plan. Mine includes unlimited talk, text, and 5gb high speed data for $0 per month.
>>
>>53531942
Some background on what I'm trying to accomplish:

I just bought a car that has android auto, but for it to work, I have to plug the phone into the car. Most of the time I'm not going to bother with this.

I have an old Nexus 4 that I'd love to be able to just stick in the center console, plugged into the car all the time. It would use little data, mainly just when I do navigation. I'd probably come in well below 1 gig/month.

I'm reluctant to add another monthly expense for something like this. If I could just pay for the data up-front and forget about it for a year, I'd do it.

I am very surprised that I cannot find a company that offers such a service.

>>53531994
I'd be better off just spending the money.
>>
>>53531925
The problem is companies who do offer what you're looking for will give you shit plans for the price, a monthly service from boost mobile will always be more economical.
>>
>>53532020
>companies who do offer what you're looking for
I'm starting to think that they don't exist (?!)

>monthly service from boost mobile will always be more economical
If you're right about this then I probably won't bother.

Android auto is kind of dog shit anyway.
>>
>>53532018
Nah I got what you meant. Unfortunately I can't think of a way to do that
>>
>>53532018
Based on my experience in wireless retail there is no prepaid provider that offers data without an expiration date. The longest time period I am aware of is Verizon when you prepay $100 gives you an expiration of 1 year. However, this would be pay per use data which costs $1.99/MB far too much even for what you are looking for.
>>
AT&T offers a $2 per day prepaid plan with 100mb per day, that almost what you want?
>>
>>53532018
Actually, boost mobile does offer what you're looking for (sorta).

The $30 plan I mentioned includes the auto re-boost feature which takes out $30 each month for service automatically. That totals to $360/year for about 33GB of high speed data (growing data thing). All months include unlimited 2g speed data after you use up the high speed data.

Yoko is a really bland character imo, but i fully support Yoko cosplay for that sweet underboob.
>>
>>53532104
no, that's $60/month

if I'm going to do something monthly, there's way better deals than that.

>>53532119
looks like boost also does a $25/month 1.5GB plan for hotspots, although I doubt they care what the actual device is.

>>53532144
I don't know what that means, I just wanted you guys to click on my thread.

Straight talk has a yearly plan. However you have to pay a whopping $495 and only give you a meager 5GB of data. Looks like boost is the cheapest option here.
>>
Do you not have a smartphone for every day use that you could use for Android auto as well? Or just Hotspot your personal phone to that nexus and leave the nexus in the car?
>>
>>53532157
The 25$/month plan is limited to a wireless router they sell unfortunately.
>>
>>53532179
Yes, but it's a Z3C so it has a flap to reach the usb port.

I could hotspot it on/off every time I get in the car. I thought about doing that, but I'd rather spend some money and then forget about having the other phone in the car until it runs out of gigabytes, whenever that might be. Probably wouldn't be for a while.
>>
Dem teddies just wanna pop out from the bra
>>
>>53532229
Fuck you mean unfortunately? Isn't that what OP is looking for?

>>
OP, here's what you do.

1. get the wireless modem + $25/month 1.5GB data plan from boost

2. deposit $200 into the account

This will keep you cash money for about 8 more months, the funds will automatically be deducted each month from the account.

>>53532449
Can't you just deposit $300?
>>
>>53532520
No, reboosts are limited to $200 max. You can however make a second $100 reboost after the $200 reboost I think. I'm not too sure about that.
>>
>>53531544
Don't worry. She doesn't find you attractive either.
>>
Tracfone is what I'm using, works out to about $6/month for service and $50/4GB, and it's on Verizon's network which is a big plus.
>>
>>53531429
You want: https://charge.co/
$15/GB or $13/GB if you buy at least 5gb in one recharge.
No talk, no text, only data that never expires.
One caveat, Sprint network.
