Software engineering genius Terry A. Davis uses Ubuntu as his host OS. Why don't you?

But I do.

ubuntu is cia nigger honeypot

Man, those *NIX freaks, like real freaks, who invented our kernels and languages, they still use only CLI. They don't even boot into anything graphical.

believing this trade is somehow indicative of "genius" level intelligence
>implying TemploOS is significant in any way whatsoever
>implying the choice of Plebuntu as the main OS somehow backs up your claim that Terry is a genius
good argument, tbqh, fampai

Schizophrenia is a literal nightmare you can't wake up from. I don't think you realize how bad it is.

Vice did a short documentary about him. I don't remember what it was, but I think it was with the government.

the only things I use Linux on are my SBC (does Ubuntu even support MIPS?) and my VPS. Ubuntu would be a bad choice for either.
>>53534484
why would it be bad for vps?
is all the support it has a bad thing?
>>53534484
Would this anger you? :^)
Ubuntu on a SBC

No it's still open source, and you can check it yourself, the spyware which is not hidden like on Microsoft doesn't even have to be removed - you just disable it and ti stops taking data for Amazon.
So no, no, no, no sure if you want to give them your data - that way they make a profit by monetizing it - give it. Else just disable that and participate with code, support or ideas instead.
Ubuntu is literally alongside fedora the best distribution right now.

1999: simple, clean interface that can run on a wide range of hardware
2009: bloated interface that drains battery life and requires a beefy GPU. Feedback buttons and other visual cover everywhere. Multiple clocks, one in an awful, skeuomorphic analog format that doesn't even have numbers. Scores of different visual styles crammed into every window. Want to fix things? Sorry, you can't, the software doesn't belong to you.
>>53545431
He is prototyping. He doesn't have time to care about OSes. His real challenge is to build his own self-driving software/hardware, hardest problems being applied deep learning, kalman filters and traction control. Ubuntu does everything he really needs. The only drawback is lack of hard realtime, but I guess he just deals with it.
You see there are hobbyists ricing their arch, and there are people applying computers to solve toughest real-word problems. I, for one, am really interested in being the second type.
Linux is a lot of fun once you get used to it, and once you have everything set up the way you want.
Imagine any time you have a problem with how Windows is doing something you can fix it -- that's Linux (or BSD) for an experienced user. It's worth the sacrifices I think.
