i just want a usable OS that isn't malware
>>53530736
Try Depth OS. Getting good reviews.
>>53530736
Well if you can't into Ubuntu and don't want Windows that only leaves one major OS left.
:^)
>>53531153
My post was actually legitimate. Google some reviews.

>problems with Ubuntu
You're too stupid for technology. Do something different in your free time.
Ubuntu Mate is garbage, just use Unity.
>>53531342
Fuck Unity, use Xfce
>>53531342
Why are you baiting so hard?
Use Kubuntu, very similar to Windows.
>>53530736
If you're capable of reading, do arch. Not trolling here, once you get past the installation arch is easy as fuck to use when you've got yaourt and pacman you have all the software you could ever need.
Use Arch. http://sourceforge.net/projects/architect-linux/files/
In its quest for simplicity, Ubuntu has gotten almost as bad as Windows.
>wine sucks
Yeah, sure. But, why are you even using it?
Opensuse leap 42.1
>>53531776
Not baiting, I've tried gnome, xfce, lxde, mate, kde; unity is much better than any of them.
>>53531298
You're a fucking liar.
I'm using Ubuntu mate and it's performing incredibly well on my d2500 atom.
>>53531972
OpenSUSE is top tier

>tired of windows malware
If you encounter enough malware to be tired of it ... you're pretty dumb, bruv.
>>53532001
Why is the iso so fucking huge?

Kek
Does anyone have a good malware scan to recommend? I feel like the windows malware scanners I've used are actually malware themselves. Sneaky bastards.
>>53532029
Windows IS the malware.
>>53530736
how is linux mint?
>>53531953
>>53531940
Once you go Arch, you never go back.
Partially because it's so good. Partially because you spent so much time learning how to use Arch that you want to justify your time sink.
>>53532977
It's Ubuntu, with Cinnemon instead of Unity, and more propritery drivers.
IMO, it's ok for people new to Linux, but I'd still reccomend Antegros, Manjaro, Fedora, or Debian before Mint.

There's no malware on there if you aren't retarded.
>>53531322
And you are what holds Linux back from mainstream adoption.

+ mint is based on ubunut 14
While ubuntu stable release right now is 15 - so no reason to go with mint, until future release.

Just buy a mac. Youre obviously not willing to tinker and figure shit out. You just want to plug in and go. Macs are really nice pieces of equipment.
Xubuntu or Manjaro-xfce. Install Compton immediately when you boot.
Thank me later senpai.

xfce
Elementary OS.
