Moto X 2014 has had Marshmallow since December. Why is it so slow for different models for what's considered one of the better companies for updates?

It was laggy on everything, even trying to call people. Switched to OP2 now.

I've been curious about this phone? 2nd or 3rd gen? How's the battery life? Speed? I just want to text, email, browse 4chan using clover or some shit, check banking stuff, and browse Amazon/eBay. My experience with the G 2014 has been less than stellar. I swore BY the phone when it kame out with KitKat. Under LaggyPop and to a. *SLIGHTLY* lesser extent Marshmallow, it is more swear AT. GPS lock issues are one thing, and the memory usage issues are another. You can't go from maps, to messaging (to send a message letting the wife know that traffic is dead stopped) to the camera app (to take a picture of said traffic) without maps quitting. And maybe the messaging app too.
