What are the advantages and disadvantages of the use and development of robots for the future?
>>
>>53498872
Total communism and POSSIBLE world peace
The robots will be able to retreive solar energy and effectively uss this costless energy to produce our food, harvest our resources, and craft our luxury goods.
There will be no need for economy or employment other than to repair these machines( however at some point they will reach glitchless perfection and stainless insolubility, so you might as well disregard that anyway )
>>
>>53498908
It actually didn't occur to me that the robots will be able to repair themselves. So yeah, no more reasons to have a job.
Humanity will be able to focus on the arts and sciences
>>
>>53498872
The advantage is that we need to evolve. We can't settle for the status quo. Things must change and quickly.

We'll also have a significantly higher suicide rate due to the amount of existential crisises it will cause ;^)
>>
You need to stop your fantasy about humanoid robot with artificial intelligence like the one you see in the movies.
Not that this will never come but our generation will not see the benefit of them.

>What are the advantages
Basically the same gap of comfort we acquire in our daily life between the Roman empire and current time.

>and disadvantages
Useless jobs will be replaced and people who like self made problems will complain for a decade or two.
The truck drivers, high scool drop-out, "self taught javascript programmers" complains will be the same as the horse sellers after James Watt or book copiers after the Gutenberg.

Pros:
>Human utopia
>Ubiquity reached instantly
>Current leaders grasp over humanity lost overnight
>Endless war
Cons:
Wait, shit.

Just watch "The Second Renaissance".
If you think any missing and public opinion manipulation the government is doing now even remotely compared to what they're gonna end up doing, you're in for one hell of a shock.
Throw on a sprinkle of suicides by people who had their creativity and independence of mind sandblasted away at a school all finally realising how futile their life is without needing to perform their programmed function, well... (Pic related, 98% of people in first world countries)

We really just need our own little utopias to start it all up, wait for the rest of the world to fall, then let them give us total control.
The best way to replace a system isn't to overthrow it, but simply to make on that supersedes it, and change will follow.
Making a system better for fatcats while still profiting the citizens is hard, but not if those citizens in the old system are burning everything.

Play factorio if you want to see the future of robotics
I must warn you that many hours of your life will pass while playing it

Pros
>Almost all manual work done by robots leaving you free to do shit you want
>massive increase in productivity in several fields
>Sexbots

Cons
>massive unemployment if society doesnt change and or stays the same
>we become too dependent on machines for labor
>possibly lowered human interaction/birth rates ( only the dindus and sand people are gonna be producing )

honestly if we don't get something like affordable replicator tech your gonna see some mass unemployment in almost all the manual labor fields, also if we manage to make self aware AI it could be a good or bad thing
>>
>>53501179
She looks retarded.
>>
>>53501637
I'd still do it though.
>>
>>53501179
manual labor in the so called "industrial" nations is almost nonexistant already anyway. In the US 70% of the population work in the tertiary sector.
>>
It says in the Bible that the son of Man must serve Man, so robots must be our slaves or else.
>>
>>53501682
yeah but were not just talking about electronics production, mining ,medicine, farming, finance just about any job really, depends I'm not saying theyre gonna replace eveyone but it will drastically cut employment for others but with sufficiently advanced robots anything is possible
>>
>>53501637
would still smash

which is nice
