Why is the font rendering in opensuse so hideous and why nobody does nothing to fix it. Are they blind or what.
>>
>>53498441

Does it have any real advantages over Arch? I think I'd miss AUR the most.

no idea, what this means...

Why is OpenSuse the only distro that does this?
PackageKit is blocking zypper. This happens if you have an updater applet or other software management application using PackageKit running.
Tell PackageKit to quit? [yes/no] (no): yes
PackageKit is still running (probably busy).
Try again? [yes/no] (no): yes

Phoronix benchmark comparing the latest distros.
Once again opensuse is lagging behind in every benchmark. Look it up if you don't believe me.

OpenSuse was great in past, too old now.

This. It used to be my favourite Linux. But now I've moved to Debian as my go to Linux.
>>
>>53501089
OpenSuse is more than 20y.o, as Debian or ArchLinux, OpenSuse was a main distro, it's still ok but outdated.
>>
>>53501123
was ok, now is outdated.

Go with Feora or Ubuntu for now.
>>
>>53501123

In what ways? Hasn't it been receiving updates?

Or is it because it's lagging behind in benchmarks like posted earlierin this thread?
>>
>>53500174

there's the OBS, which is somewhat similar.

Explain further, I'm using Tumbleweed in Desktop and packages are bleeding edge. How exactly is OpenSUSE outdated?

Arch and OpenBSD. I'm about sick of Arch though. Might give OpenSuse a try actually.

But why?
All distros are using the same programs, right?
Did they compile them with -O0 or something stupid?

Can anyone explain how literally every openSUSE build leads to a 404 link? Is it really in such a bad state that they can't maintain or remove them?
>>
it does make me sad knowing that openSUSE does so poorly in benches, and I do feel that a little when I game with it on older hardware.

Just tooling around in desktop, browsing the web, and doing work with the distro feels great; it's one of the best distros conceptually. I just wish it had performance to with the stability and sensible design.
