Is it worth dual boot? Well in case i want dual boot, what's the best distro for dual boot it?
>>
I remember being young. Take my advice, leave this place and never come back, go outside, get in shape, get a gf. there is nothing here but pain
>>
>>53486443
If you know what ou are doing.
>Arch

If you don't know what your doing
>Manjaro

If your really bang on the head retarded and can't read
>Ubuntu.

Thats my 2 cents.
>>
>>53486479
Yup
>>
>>53486479
too late
>>
>>53486514
>hurr Ubuntu is for retards
Fuck off, not everyone wants to have to fuck with the command line to get basic shit working
>>
>>53486443
Run it in a Virtual Box, Dual boot is gay
>>
>>53486443
>Is it worth dual boot?
no
>Well in case i want dual boot, what's the best distro for dual boot it?
they are all the fucking same in that case
>>
>>53486731
and virtual box isn't?
virtual box is for retards who can't setup kvm/qemu with gpu passthrough and core pinning
>>
>>53486443
For what ?
If it's only for some softwares, use a vm.
And they're all the same unless you can't follow a basic installer
>>
>>53486772
look at the OS op is using, can't you tell we are dealing with a retard
>>
>>53486790
>look at the OS op is using
is a random image from google, the retard are you.

In many cases, using the terminal is faster and easier than using a gui
The only real exceptions are wifi and gtk settings.
>>
>>53486514
>if you dont want to lose time inconsequentially typing commands you follow on a manual and will forget easily instead of just using an installer

Not everyone using GNU/Linux is a basement neckbeard with too much time on their hands
>>
>>53487249
>>If your really bang on the head retarded and can't read

Pretty much all distros use GRUB now. So there isn't really a better or worse distro for dual booting specifically.
>>
>>53486479
This. Also quit vidya.
>>
>>53486443
>Is it worth dual boot?
If you need or want to use 2 or more different OS in the same machine and you don't feel like configuring a VM, yes

Well in case i want dual boot, what's the best distro for dual boot it?
Preety much any distro, unless it's some obscure werid one, so just pick the one that fits your needs the more.

>The only real exceptions are wifi and gtk settings.

Does wifi-menu count as a GUI?

That's your problem, I mean what other distro doesn't give you a fucking error message if something goes wrong during the installation?
>>
>>53486647
Lmao

I use xubuntu and use the command line simply because its better

You don't actually use the software center do you?
>>
Dont bother you'll just end up using one OS.

Just install linux in a virtualbox
>>
>>53487710
What's a better babby's first distro that's relatively lightweight and secure?
>>
>>53487776
>>53487776
xubuntu
>>
>>53487776
Any of the *buntus, except for the Unity one, I personally like Xubuntu the best, but the distros just change the DE (LXDE, KDE XFCE), the base is still the same Manjaro if you want to use pacman, some people say they start with fedora or Debian, but I don't feel those are as begginer friendly.

Just look for information, you do know how to use google, right?

You do not understand my pain.
You do not understand what I have been though.
I was first born in a laboratory, unknowingly falling into a pit of immortality.
Life was hell.
Gyaaah, ahh! Ahhhh! uhhuhuhu!
No, i dont want to go! No! No! No i dont want to go...
Gyahahdyahaha!
AAAAAAAHHH! AAAAHHH! GOD!
Awwwwahaha!
I knew everything in the universe.
Yet I could not fall in love.
I was forever trapped in an infinite timeline of pain and suffering.
I envy death.
Technology is just another thing to distract you from the real joys of life.
Technology will kill you.
Run.
Run.
Run.
I can no longer sit back and watch my loved ones die.
I want to be hidden from this world where no body will find me.
Frank, throw me in the river so that I can be at peace.
Throw me in the river and let me sink to the bottom.

I've spent a bit of time going through the /g/ wiki and searching around, I'm just looking for opinions.
>>
>>53487925
Don't just stay with /g/'s opinion, unless you want to end up installing Gentoo, Arch or Slackware, go outside, look for other places, and before you ask, look for yourself.
>>
> dual boot
Occupational therapy for nerd boys with too much time.
You won't even use it much because rebooting is a massive bother.
Decide on your primary OS and use a VM if you have use cases for the other one.
>>
debian
>>
>>53487979
Of course I'm not just going to do what /g/ says. I'm staying the fuck away from Gentoo and Arch for now, I'm not looking to go too deep into the rabbit hole. Frankly, I don't have the time.
>>
>>53486479
sound advice
>>
dual booting is the old way of running a second/guest OS.

before virtual desktops, liveCDs, and high capacity flash drives, dual booting was your only option. and now, it is not even worth the trouble.
>>
>>53486514
Arch will work without too much beforehand knowledge as well. If you want to, you can learn easily by chekcing the wiki
>>
>>53486443
Not really if you are a regular computer user like me. I haven't turned off my computer in weeks, never had the chance to boot again. This is one of the nice things about using a GNU/Linux distribution.
>>
>>53487673
wifi-menu is what many would describe as a TUI, not a GUI.

Only with dualboot you have 100% full OSes functionality. Never with virtual Boxes or liveCD.
>>
>>53488772
can you name one functionality a VM doesn't support for an OS?
>>
>>53488836
Well unless you have fancy-pants vt-d, 3D acceleration for one.

Install gentoo if you truly want to learn how your computer works. Or just stay a mindless normie and get cucked by the botnet forever. The choice is up to you. Choose wisely.
