How does /g/ block ads on their Android flagship device ?
Lucky Patcher / Adblock from F-Droid / uBlock Origin in Firefox

>root
>install adaway
F-Droid/AdAway
or as I've recently taken to calling it
F-Droid+AdAway
Links if possible, these appear to be everywhere
And with root provided, can't find the original
My ROM actually has an edited hosts file.
Other than that I use one of the CAF snapdragon optimized chromium browsers that have built in adblocking (I use SWE browser).
For YouTube there's an xposed module called YouTube adaway.

How do I stop fdroid from autostarting when I close wifi, even though I've disabled periodic updates?

Sauce for an updated hosts file, that I can use as a source? I'll edit it myself, sounds cleaner than an app

If you can tell me the file path for the hosts file I'll upload it.

We call it a smartphone nowadays, in case you haven't noticed m80

/etc/hosts
OR
/system/etc

Adaway and Youtube Adaway.
The thing about these hosts files is that if you don't vet them yourself, someone could be redirecting legitimate traffic and phish your passwords.

Hmmm, same thing can happen with apps, anyone can edit the open source hosts file, one simple miss, and the attacker might get thousands of passwords
