Look, while VR is theorhetically fantastic for things like education, we all know it'll be relegated to video games and porn. If you have any doubts about that, go ahead and buy a VR headset. I can pretty much guarantee that you'll eventually end up trying out a VR PoV porn and never use it for anything else ever again.

Imagine how it could change esports? Like, for the league of legends world tournaments for example you can create a vr stadium that people can log onto and watch their favorite teams and players battle it out live.

The whole reason why I created this thread is because I sell phones for a living and I'm selling my girlfriend the new s7 tomorrow so we can get the gear vr for free.
I've been selling alot of these phones since the launch yesterday and had a shit ton of preorders on this deal and was wondering what everyone ACTUALLY thinks about them and what direction they'd be going hoping to find some selling points I can use in my pitch. I think my company might frown upon me talking about porn with my customers regardless of how fucking awesome that sounds.

Got the cardboard for a nexus 5 a year ago and wasn't impressed at all, sure it was neat to look around for 5 minutes but it was also super uncomfortable, because my eyesight is shit and there is no padding whatsoever.
Then a few days ago got the s7 with gear vr and wow it's a completely different story.
I use it for watching netflix for hours straight with no discomfort.
It's nowhere near perfect though, the screen door effect is very noticeable and any dirt that is on the phone or on either side of the lens is super distracting.

Yes, the Rift and Vive are insanely immersive. You feel like you're actually there. 100%.

Cockpit based games work very well in VR, and there's already lots of space sims.

I've never gotten motion sickness from watching a video or playing a game before but that video fucks me up.

I still haven't fully worked around this yet, i put some foam in between earlier but it only helped a bit, i want something more permanent, like a construction where i can just slide it in and stop worrying about the fucking screen getting broken by too much pressure or something

That may be because the video is at 60fps and virtual reality requires 120fps to avoid VR sickness.

I have a BoboVR and a OnePlus 2.
I use it pretty much exclusively for porn.
I sort of have an issue with it slowly de-centering, so I have to look over my shoulder to see shit. Anyone know of a fix for this?
If GTX 970 is the minimum, then should I get the EVGA 980Ti Hybrid?
