>12GB data a month
>$60 Ausfailian Unicycle Dollarididgeridoos
>No DSL available
>Local exchange is beyond outdated designed to service at most 4000 premises in an area with now almost 7000 people
>On the coast, 10 minutes drive from Blunderberg
>No NBN in sight, even if it is Turnbull's FTTN (Fuck The Turnbull Network) mess

Just having a cup of tea on a lazy Sunday afternoon here wondering how's things elsewhere.

I'm the luckiest fuck in my area.
>local dsl has so nearly no spots
>antiquated exchange and copper barely does telephone calls anymore
>my suburb is like seven kilometers from the exchange
>they rolled out cable down my street (of only a handful)
>we get cable internet
>200 beegees of internet
>bretty fast
>can upgrade to 100Mb/s for an extra 10$ a month
>the highest speed that a relative around the corner from me gets is 1Mb/s

500GB cap Telstra upgraded for free to 1000GB (Promotion thing they did a while back for certain customers).
ADSL2+ 900M from nearest exchange as the crow flies, estimated copper line length at 1KM.
15Mbps down, 1Mbps up.
No NBN insight until 2018 but moving in 6 months to an area that already has NBN up and running how ever it's FFTN so 50Mbps. Premises with FFTP are too fucking expensive and in areas that don't help me.
Been a Telstra customer for nearly a decade so have multiple discounts stacked on my bill so pay nearly half of what others do, Telstra also fucked up big time with my mobile bill so as a sorry I have 30GB data cap on 4G that won't end unless I re0new my contract/plan.
So not so bad.
>>
fucking isp i get 20mbs when i paid for 100mbs

How far are you from the nearest exchange?

My mum has been with telstra for almost 30 years and she doesn't get shit.
>>
>>53460811
Well I am happy for you man. 7km is almost twice my distance so I guess that is really something considering my nigh-on unserviceable area.

>True fibre optic NBN
Why so slow if it's FTTP then? Are you getting evening congestion?
>>

Just fuck my shit up senpai

>Why so slow if it's FTTP then?

If he's on a 25/5 plan then he's getting the correct speeds.
>>
>>53463159
It's enough, sort of.

>>53463171
What the fuck was I thinking
>>
I just moved to a second place without access to adsl. I truly wasn't aware of how bad our infrastructure is. I live only a few suburbs out from the center of the city too, what is this shit.
>>
>>53464369
What about 4G wireless?
>>
>>53464398
15Gig max data cap by telstra for a fuckton of jewbucks, unless he lives in one of the few areas serviced by other ISPs.
>>
>Perth coastal suburbs, multi-million dollar mansion errywhere. Area was established in 70's and 80's, entirely RIMs (multiplexed). Everywhere ADSL labelled "0-10 >slots available", this is so Telstra can pretend coverage when really there is nothing for 10km up and down the coast.
>The only unlimited service, Vivid Wireless, is overloaded Korean 4G giving a max of 1.2Mb/s download, few Kb/s upload - $79AU a month.
>Got it anyway. Better than nothing.
>On the upside, Telstra is so fucked up it believed its own bullshit and tried/failed to set me up ADSL, twice.
>Scored two free modems, plus now the landline phone is rent-free because they couldn't supply, so are just charging for calls. Its a funny situation, Telstra salespeople are Indian outsource and don't care about reality, costs or eventualities. They just want to tick that "contract signed" box and get their commission. I could sign up again and probably get another free modem, but its too depressing.

Here's your real FTTP NBN

100/40

Test was on a "bad" day for speeds.
>>

>tfw even if labor gets back in FTTP will not come back.
>>
>>53464686
of course it wont the labor that started the nbn doesnt exist anymore.

all they care about is their boomer votes and house prices and drive the working class into the ground and agreeing with the libs for some fucking reason on every little thing.
>>
>>53464718
>tfw you'll never experience 100mbps

Took a shit, came back, images on this page still haven't loaded

TPG ADSL2+ 400m away from the exchange but choose this stable internet profile because of drop outs. I feel sad for rural aussies with ADSL1 or capped 4G internet.
