>Firefox and its distros run like shit in hardware acceleration mode, but look like shit with it turned off
>Chrome is botnet city, and even once you find a good fork like Iridium the extensions are incredibly limited so you're not allowed any integration with your external download manager
>Been going through hipster browsers in an attempt to find something good, and they've all sucked so far (pic related)
Is there no such thing as a good browser anymore?
>>
yandex is cool, shame there's no linux version yet
>>
Are the extensions really limited on Iridium? I thought all Chrome extensions worked.
>>
>>53456550
iridium is just german botnet, instead of google botnet

No, they work, but they're not as hardcore-integrated. in FF you can get extensions that turn any download you make into a 100% compatible wget command (pic related), which you can't do in chrome/iridium

Firefox is fine you autist, it literally does everything I've ever asked of it, and I'm running it on a 2007 laptop. If you don't like the look, get FT Deep Dark theme and you're good.

Stop complaining, browsers are not perfect, but they are better than they've ever been.
>>
>>53456184
Cyberfox is aight. Plain Firefox works fine for me too.
>>
>>53456650
Cyberfox is meme-tier. I used it for about a year... it's just as slow as normal Firefox.

I learned through trial and error and a lot of experimenting with various browsers and forks that Firefox is indeed the best solution, but the UI lag makes it feel so slow. I found out that the lag in Firefox can be solved quite easily. It's not some obscure fork that solves the issue (Cyberfox, pcxFirefox, Waterfox, SeaMonkey, Palemoon... none of these fix the issue)

Moved onto 64-bit, thinking that this is the answer. Wrong. 64-bit is just as slow, sometimes more so. Then I tried Nightly. Turns out the answer is e10s (multiprocess). UI lag gone, I can breathe again knowing Firefox is alright... for now. My next battle will be with forced addon signing. Need to find a way around that and we're good.

I use Cyberfox for its UI customization, not its speed.
>>
>>53457029
What can Cyberfox do UI related that other forks can't? It's been a while.

So it's closed source?
Fuck off, then.
>>
>>53456796
Explain further, how do you fix the UI lag? I use Firefox and the UI lag annoys the fuck out of me.

mfw gentoo doesn't have this problem
>>
>>53457193
Just install Nightly or Aurora. They should have e10s enabled by default. I'm not sure if Firefox beta has e10s yet. If it does then you can use beta.

You're my fucking savior
>>
>>53457077
what else you gonna use?

As he said, browsers aren't perfect. Pick the best of a bad bunch.

Use fucking midori for all I care.
>>
is there even any difference between 32-bit and 64-bit firefox nightly?
>>
>>53457815
64-bit is faster.
It's difficult to explain unless you have a basic knowledge of CPU architecture and busses.
>>
Literally all software is terrible.
>>
>>53457704
Don't forget to install uBlock Origin too. Ads will slow your browser pretty badly on some sites.
>>
>>53457850
I was mostly wondering if it's placebo or they actually bothered to make it properly
>>
>>53458144
If they compiled on a 64-bit computer, it'll be faster.
>>
Opera 12.16 is still the masterrace
>>
>>53457919
Correct! But some software sucks less. See suckless's excellent Surf browser.

Hahahaha. Enjoy your gimped as fuck video support.

>>53458331
If you're sending 2x the amount of data over a bus it is reaching components at 2x the speed and more logicis being done at 2x the speed. What am I missing here?
>>
>>53458367
Unfortunately none of that is relevant at all in actual web browser usage.
>>
>>53458409
How so?

That's the only point I'm trying to make, here.

It's got a custom, exclusive fork of classic theme restorer built in
