MDR-E828LP were the shit, but that may be nostalgia, its been over ten years since i have used them and since they are no longer manufactured they cost upwards of $40 new

Used mine for 7 years and still working great, sounds a lot better than the Apple Earpods that come with my phone.
I wish the ear dildo meme would stop. The fuckers are uncomfortable, take more effort/coordination to put in properly, and from time to time will come out waxy (yes, even if you clean your ears) which means they get get coated with pocket lint easily. How the fuck did these things get popular?
