Alright /g/ experiment is underway
I just bought 4x2gb 800 memory sticks from aliexpress for the grand total of 40$
I've got 2x2gb 667 corsair in my PC and Im running a memtest right now and when it completes I'll test the generic chinese sticks
If people are interested I'll post all results
I welcome any suggestions on how I test the memory, the command I ran was
>sudo memtester 1024 5
Which allocates 1024 mb of memory and runs the test 5 times
sounds lit
Cool? Why are you doing this anyway?

Aliexpress memory (or generic memory wherever it comes from) is usually half the price, and I wanna check if the sticks work as well as branded sticks
i'm genuinely interested in your results; hopefully i'll be able to find this thread again...
bookmarked, op pls deliver
Memory test for the original corsair went well, everything 100% okai, in my exitement I forgot to take a screenshot though
The new memory is in, memory teat running

Thank you, Anon! We love you.

why only 1GB allocation? run that memtest thing that's always included in linux distros. it should test all your address space.

Fuck its supposed to say 'test'
>>53450145
Good idea Ill test that once I finish

may I suckle on that delicious memory teat to ingest useful binary proteins?
Kick ass everything went fine
Buy some aliexpress cheapo memory sticks if you wanna they werk just fine
I can say the same for aliexpress SSD's I've run similar test for 3 different generic SSD's and the best one had 600mb r/w speed (around those values it was a few months ago)

Which supplier did you buy the ram sticks from m8?
>>53450145
Do this, OP
>>53450297`
Check back and test it again after a month or two of us, I'm curious if it'll fail over time.

Maybe you just got lucky? I believe their quality controll is shittier then any branded one, thats exactly what you pay for, quality.

Will do, its a good idea I think how long should I wait? I use my PC daily for 12 hours running intelliJ or the likes most of the time

I did buy 4 sticks and all were 100% good but I realize its a risky, thats the whole point of the experiment
